I stayed two times at this resort without sargassum. Has anyone stayed here during sargassum season or should I change destination?
In about 3 to 4 weeks, I'm headed back to Mexico. I'm considering a second time at Barcelo Maya Coloniale Resort Complex but I'm hearing about the same bad experience I lived with them in 2018.
I know Sargassum is bad, but Barcelo does little effort to pick up compared to other resorts. Last June in Catalonia Playa Maroma, it was incredible the amount of sargassum but the staff worked from 6 am to 8pm each day no stop....
I saw the pictures on Trip Advisor, really ridiculous.
Anyone has a sargassum free all inclusive resort for me under 1500$ Canadian dollars: Airfare, hotel, shuttle.

I was leaving work one night and a snowstorm started. It was so magical and cool!
I went to Barcelo Maya in June 2018. It was during the world cup, great vibe in the bars at the resort.
It was also during hurricane season, it rained everyday during my 7 days, beach was covered by sargassum, only a small part towards the Palace was decent for swimming but the waves were strong. I found the food at the buffet ok, the restaurants a la carte were good along with the night entertainment. The club was cool with female dancers.
I found a good deal from Montreal on Air Transat for 1500$ Canadian all inclusive.
Should I go?
I'm about to book an all inclusive resort to Mexico for mid June. I noticed that prices from Canada are about or cheaper than last year despite the whole oil prices going up. Either people are not traveling or airlines have low demand and need to fill airplanes.
