Screen replacement MacBook M2 A2338
Hi there,
It is my first time trying to repair a MacBook for myself because of cost. My MacBook’s screen cracked recently and I couldn’t work with half the screen so I decided to replace it with an aftermarket screen from eBay. After following a guide I realized that one of the brackets that hold the cables from the screen had a corroded connection on one end. After screwing the screw down, it came off completely (refer to pictures). I’m clearly not an expert at this so after realizing this, I wanted to test if the bracket was really necessary so I left it as is and turned the laptop on. I heard the startup sound but the screen won’t turn on. I decided not to mess with it anymore and double checked everything else was screwed down and I wasn’t missing anything. I’d appreciate advice to see if I need to return and get a new replacement screen or maybe fix the bracket somehow. Thank you so much.
