I tried turning “life anxiety” into gameplay

Game Title: No Place to Stand

Playable Link: No Place to Stand - Itch.io

Platform: Web / Browser

Description:

I made a platformer inspired by the feeling of being alive.

You spawn onto a platform that immediately starts disappearing beneath you. Every jump matters because the ground is never permanent. Standing still for too long can kill you, but moving too aggressively can be just as dangerous. Random spikes emerge unexpectedly, forcing you to constantly adapt and react in real time.

The idea came from how life often feels: constantly moving toward an unknown ending while balancing fear, pressure, momentum, hesitation, and survival. I wanted the mechanics themselves to communicate that emotion.

The game features endless procedural generation, disappearing platforms, dynamic hazards, and even a fully procedural audio system built entirely with the Web Audio API without using external sound files.

Every run is different, and the game is designed to keep players in a constant state of tension and motion.

I developed the entire game myself, including the gameplay systems, procedural generation, physics tuning, audio system, and overall concept/design.
