🇹🇿 Asante Sana Tanzania Shukrani Zetu Kwa Ukarimu Wenu wa Ajabu

Hey everyone,

On behalf of the entire team at Trendify, I wanted to take a moment to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone in Tanzania who participated in our recent research project. We were in the field conducting research for our Culturally-Aware AI for Language Model (CA-AALM) initiative, with a special focus on the rich and vibrant Maa culture.

Ukarimu wenu umetugusa sana.

From the moment our Trendify team arrived, we were met with such incredible warmth, openness, and generosity. The opportunity to learn directly from the Maa community, to experience your traditions, and to hear your perspectives firsthand was truly a privilege. Every interaction was a pleasure, and your willingness to share your time, experiences, and deep cultural insights made our research not only successful but profoundly memorable. We felt so welcomed everywhere we went, truly feeling like part of the community.

Asante sana kwa kushiriki na kutufanya tujisikie nyumbani. Your contributions are invaluable to us at Trendify and for our Culturally-Aware AI for Language Modeling (CA-AALM) work. The insights we gained into the Maa culture are richer and more nuanced because of your honest and thoughtful participation. We are now back, diligently working on analyzing the data, and we're excited about how these learnings will help us build AI tools that are truly relevant and beneficial, respecting and integrating local knowledge and cultural nuances, especially in language modeling.

This research wouldn't have been possible without your amazing spirit and cooperation. We left with not just valuable data, but also with wonderful memories of the beautiful country and its people, especially the profound experience of engaging with the Maa culture.

Mungu awabariki sana. Asante tena, na tunatumai tutaendelea kushirikiana katika safari hii ya teknolojia na uhifadhi wa utamaduni.

Warmest regards,

The Trendify Team

independent consultant - how do you consistently get clients?

I've been out on my own for about 8 months now after leaving big 4. The feast or famine cycle is real. Right now I'm doing ok but I know I need to build a more predictable pipeline.

Currently getting most work through referrals and my network, but that feels too passive. I've tried cold outreach with mixed results - used Apo͏llo for a bit to pull contact lists but the data quality was hit or miss and I was spending more time cleaning lists than actually reaching out.

Those of you who've been independent for a while - what's your split between referrals vs outbound? And if you do outbound for lead gene͏ration for consulting, what's actually working? I've seen a few people mention Pro͏speo and Cl͏ay but haven't tried either yet.

I'm in ops consulting if that matters, mostly helping companies fix their broken processes. my boss used to joke that we were "professional mess cleaners" and honestly that's still accurate lol. just trying to figure out how to keep the pipeline full without it being a full time job on top of the actual work.
