Finally Approved! 🇨🇦 Canada Study Permit (India) | Timeline + A Few Lessons

After what felt like the longest 10 days of my life, I finally received my Passport Request (PPR)! 😭🇨🇦

I spent hours on this subreddit reading everyone's timelines, so here's mine in case it helps someone.

Applied from Delhi, India.

Timeline

  • June 22: Study permit application submitted
  • June 25: Biometrics completed
  • June 29: Medical examination request (IMM1017E) received (I had already done an upfront medical)
  • July 2: Medical exam passed
  • July 2: Passport Request (PPR) received 🎉

My experience

This process was honestly much more stressful than I expected. I kept second-guessing every decision I made, but in the end, everything worked out.

If you're currently waiting, try not to compare your timeline with everyone else's or assume the worst from every status update. Easier said than done, I know, but sometimes your application is progressing normally even when it doesn't feel like it.

Good luck to everyone who's still waiting. Wishing you all a speedy PPR! 🍁🇨🇦

PhD study permit

Hey there, I got acceptance from good accredited University for my PhD program, which is funded and the fundings for a year are above the numbers which are required by IRCC for a year. I submitted my application for study permit last week itself wherein I had put my funding details as proof of funds. I am just curious to know what is the processing time especially when IRCC says 14 days for PhD students.
Any PhD students with study permit ? Would like to connect with you guys <3

Forgot to attach SOP

Hey there,

I have been accepted for PhD at a university in canada, and I applied for the study permit. I have the proof of funds as the funding package. However, one dumb thing of me, it just slipped my mind to attach my SOP with the study permit application. It was written on the form that it's optional and that way it just slipped my mind to attach it. IRCC says it take 14 days processing for phd students, but I am not very sure if missing my SOP will affect this processing time. Please let me know if anyone has any idea about this.
