So ... I had coffee with that student, and I thought that would be our first and last social interaction outside of randomly bumping into each other on campus. (You can see my previous posts.) But ....

One thing we talked about was my hobby of playing open mics around town during the weeks when I don't have my kids (I have 50/50 custody with their mother). Yesterday, I got an unexpected text from her: "R U doing any open mics soon? lmk and ill come. Lol" So I told her I'm doing one on Wednesday, and told her to bring her friends. Maybe she'll come and maybe she won't. We'll see.
