Please help confirm i actually need this done brake pads

Hey everyone! I’ve been ripped off before and my dad used to be my go to but he had Alzheimer’s that’s advanced pretty quickly so now I’m left to figure this out. I’ve been ripped off before. I do trust I need this done but I wanted to confirm it’s as alarming as he made it seem. He said he wouldn’t let me drive off basically it’s bad.

I didn’t realize it was this bad my friend basically gave me the car for free last year and had to get the oil changed and found this out. I’m 25 and a girl so don’t be mad I know I probably needed to get this done sooner
