Unsolicited unpopular take on efficiency

So most flat rate techs think they want to have the highest possible average efficiency rate. They’re wrong. What you really want is an average efficiency rate of 150%. Every tech with 200% or more efficiency will be taken for granted, abused, and exploited. Keep your average at 60 hours a week. Turn a 200%+ week no more frequently than once a month. Want/need more money? Don’t turn more hours. Ask for raises. I used to have an average of 250% efficiency. It did me no favors, made my job worse. At 150% things are way better.

Redo of the last video.

Only makes this noise after a cold start, and last maybe 3 mins, then it’s gone. This is me putting the car into drive from neutral (can be from park too), and it also does this if reversing.

The car is a 2018 Camry SE (gas only), with 99.5k miles.

It sounds like the noise is coming from the drivers side of the vehicle. And it doesn’t matter if I let the car warm up all the way or not, as soon as I put it in drive for that first time after the cold start.. it makes the noise

Suspected water in gas tank?

I drive a 98 grand cherokee limited with a v8 engine, ~20 gallon tank and recently it has been turning off while im driving it. It's fine when im going over 20 mph, but as soon as I slow down or stop it'll turn off. All that will be on when it does this are the radio and lights, steering and acceleration go out completely. Everyone is telling me I've got water in my gas tank, which is very likely due to the people I got it from leaving it for years with half a tank. Would this be something I could easily/cheaply fix? Is this what happens with water in the tank? I've put a red heet bottle in last time i got gas, but that hasn't done anything yet.

What is this sound coming from my engine? 2017 VW Touareg. It is coming from the right side that has the belt driven alternator, AC and power steering pump. The noise does not change when I turn the steering wheel. And the AC blows cold. Thanks for your thoughts?

Car next to this Civic caught fire, civic suffered some fire damage. Makes strange noise upon start. Ideas? 2025 Honda Civic Sport 2.0L

Car was recently involved in some fire damage. Engine starts. No water touched motor due to firefighters avoiding it as it was not actively burning, door is pretty melted, mirrors, fender, headlights, parts of bumper, etc.

Knock sensor - hand tighten or torque to spec?

I'm replacing the knock sensor in my 2004 Honda Accord LX (2.4L). Spec calls for 23 ft. lbs. I don't have a torque wrench that goes that low. Can I get away with just going by feel (i.e. not crank on it hard but make sure it's snug)? The part was $150, so I don't want to damage it.

First Time Maintenance

The power assisted steering fluid is low and coolant are running low, I’m unsure what brand was in the car before I bought it (recently) and I was wondering that as long as it’s the same specification it would be fine to put it in without draining the system.

Additionally halfords sold me a bottle of Automatic Transmission & PSF that they say is compatible with my car (WSA-MSC 195-A). Will it be fine to pour it in without a change?

PSF Needed (WSA-MSC 195-A)
Coolant Needed (WSS-M97 B44-D)
My Car is a 2004 Ford Fiesta Finesse 1.2l manual

Wheel locks?

I just bought a new to me 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5S as a starter car for my kid. Checking it out closer I see these odd wheel nuts. Are they locking nuts? Each wheel has one odd nut.

Dead stuck on what leads to overcharging

2014 Infiniti q50 3.7, battery light appeared and reverse camera stopped working after I checked each fuse from the fuse box next to the battery. I was thinking that a fuse blew or was left loose so I went back to check and everything was fine but I still changed every related fuse to a new fuse. Even with all that, it still didn’t fix the issue. Both battery and Alternator were changed like 1-2 years ago. Could I have pushed down a fuse terminal deep down or something? Or something else

Bought a 2018 Focus ST for dirt cheap… Runs Perfect, but shouldn’t be…

Bought this focus st dirt cheap bc of a oil pressure light, as well as it pissing oil, drove it 40 minutes to my shop (drove amazing went into boost just fine, as long as it didn’t idle it had oil pressure when pressure would start to drop we’d stop and add oil went through 16qts 😅)Get it up on the lift and this is what i find 👀 how the hell is this thing still running perfectly not even a misfire

Clutch issues -Mk1 Focus

I’ve been driving my dads Mk1 Ford Focus recently after passing my driving test, and it has the worst clutch of any car I’ve ever driven.

After leaving it to sit overnight, the clutch pedal will noticeably sit about an inch lower than normal, and you have to manually lift it up again before driving. It’ll drive just fine even when the clutch pedal has sunk down a bit, but leave it for a few more days and it goes low enough that it’s hard to get into gear, and you have no choice but to lift it up manually.

I’ve also noticed that its a bit of a struggle to pull away quickly from a stop. If you dump the clutch, it just slips away for a few seconds and then it hooks up and pulls strong. No slipping while driving, only when pulling away and just after changing gear sometimes.

Once you‘ve gotten used to it, you can drive it and it’s not really an issue, but it’s something I would like to get to the bottom of, as it drives very differently from my other car, and I forget about It when I switch between them.

I’m thinking of changing the master cylinder and seeing if it changes anything. Apparently my dad‘s mechanic already bled the clutch and said that he wouldn’t bother looking into it any further (typical)
