My adoptive parents regifted my ex’s Christmas presents to me for my birthday. Including a very specific favorite candy. I opened everything and tried to be happy but the vibe was awkward. Afterwards I turned away and hid in my blanket as my family resumed a movie. I feel awful about my reaction, I have already been struggling lately with them as they don’t make efforts to know me. I appreciate them for taking me in, but this hurts me so much. Am I overreacting?
