I'm looking for suggestions if anybody has experience Best DIY mounts for action cameras that don't cost a fortune?

I've been filming my mountain bike rides and quickly learned that official mounts break too easy. A buddy suggested using old skateboard truck bushings as vibration dampeners – works surprisingly well! And instead of purchasing an $30 chest harness, I modified a cheap backpack strap with a 3D-printed clip. Ordered a bunch of aluminum thumbscrews and adapter rings from and now can swap my camera between a helmet, handlebar, and floating grip in seconds! But my problem is that when I ski the footage still shakes a lot. Any creative solutions you guys have for DIY stabilization using everyday items (like bungee cords, foam etc.) without buying a gimbal? And anyone use a selfie stick as a monopod for time-lapses?

How do top-freezer fridges stack up against bottom-freezer models when it comes to energy efficiency?

The fridge we had for a bit died after 12 years of faithful service and now I'm in the process of choosing a new. I’ve been going round and round as to what I should do, part of it is based on the top freezer versus bottom freezer, with the primary concern being energy use, because electric bills are no joke.

From what I’ve read looking into appliances top freezer refridges tend to be more efficient in use of energy compared to bottom freezer models. I checked out appliances on amazon as well as alibaba for models from China wow, the amount of brands and models is dizzying! Local electronics stores let me see energies and labels in person.

What’s been your experience? Do top freezer models mean lower electricity bills? Any specific model that stands the test of time? Would love to hear from those who have had experience with both. My kitchen would favor the top freezer so it’s looking that way!
