Anyone have this specific carb? Looking to upgrade not sure if I should get this or a vm22 style or similar. 212 predator

How do you guys align your chains properly? I tried using this thing but the chain still comes off constantly. I have about 1/4 inch ish of slack. One thing I noticed is when I use a chain tensioner it falls off way less, but I can still tell the chain isn’t straight because I can see it dragging/leaving bad marks on the sprocket and clutch. Running 420 chain.
