last time I was at the doctor I was notified they would be doing a speculum exam, but I’ve already decided I don’t want regular cervical checks. my question is: are they checking for something more specific if they’re using a speculum? I know this is also the GBS swab appointment , but that is more of an external check if im not mistaken. (I know I can ask at the appointment as well, I just have a bit of medical anxiety and I’d rather maybe know now if I’ll be accepting or declining). I’ve never been bothered by them before but last time I had sex it was uncomfortable at first which has also very rarely happened, so I think the hormones are changing things. Tia!
