Day 9 update

9 days after surgery. Swelling is down quite a bit, icing several times a day. Still in some definite pain although not enough for oxy. Went to the Docs for a follow up appointment, he said everything looked good, he cycled it and was pleased how it all worked and will have me cycling on the next appointment at 6/6. The incision is probably the uncomfortable at this point.

Day 6 update

Able to shower now and that is huge for feeling human again. Incision isn’t bleeding and more. Pulling down the pump is still painful as hell and that brings me to my first question, when will the pain and discomfort stop? I switched from the jock strap/dressings from the hospital into my own underwear which has a decent amount of support with some sponges. While it’s definitely more comfortable my balls still hurt like hell. Both on the incision and generally. I ice several times a day but doesn’t provide a lot of relief.

Day 4 update

The swelling has gone down quite a bit so that’s good. Still looks a little misshapen and sad but hopefully good times are ahead.

Was getting sick to the point of nearly vomiting every morning, figured out it was the post op antibiotics so the doc has me discontinue them.

The stitches were still bleeding a tiny amount doc said that was fine and don’t worry about it, shouldn’t effect my first shower tomorrow (yeah!).

By far pulling down the pump has been the most difficult. I think my scrotum is still swollen enough to make it a challenge. I can barely get a good grip on it enough to pull it down . Can’t reach the valve at all to get a grip on that. Definitely don’t want to risk opening the stitches.

Doc said don’t worry and keep trying and it should be easier once the swelling goes down it will get easier. They made such a big deal about it in the post op care sheet about it adhering too high n there I’m anxious to get it moving.

I’ll be glad when I can get out of the jockstrap, it’s super uncomfortable
