SMG is BAD at Choosing GOOD Shows
SMG has never really known how to pick shows after Buffy. She hyped up stuff like The Ringer, The Crazy Ones, and Wolf Pack — which honestly might be one of the worst teen supernatural shows ever made. Buffy was her peak. It’s not even disrespectful, it’s just reality.
So I’m not shocked she signed off on this reboot with no real original cast involved. Nobody is asking for another “teens texting each other while fighting vampires” CW-style clone. I’m good.
If they really wanted a smart Buffy revival, they should’ve brought in Danny Strong — the guy who played Jonathan and later went on to help write The Hunger Games empire. That’s the kind of creative brain you call for a legacy reboot, not some random pick that feels disconnected from what made Buffy work in the first place.
