Question about Liftmaster installation and what to expect

I went thru Costco to have a new 6690L garage door opener installed by Door Pro America.

The dude did a reasonable job - it took less than an hour: just a basic replace the old opener with a new opener; replace the external keypad; replace the smart control panel. that was it.

The installer did get the external keypad working and the little remotes you put in your car that come with the opener. And the smart control panel worked.

BUT HE REFUSED to get my Subaru's Homelink working.

Is this normal? I had the 6690 installed at my old home by another company in 2025 and they did get Homelink working.

Question Number 1: I am confused. Is this normal customer service to refuse to do this?

A friend came over and with a lot of effort did get Homelink working

Unfortunately three weeks after I had it installed, the smart control panel's LED went blank. So they are coming out again to replace it. I'm scared that I will need to ask them again to get Homelink working once they swap out the internal.

Question Number 2: is it likely when they replace the smart control panel that it will disconnect the Homelink button in my car?
