Guidance for a ham and egger with a [Casbrews 3700]

Hey all. Basically decided I’m no longer paying $7 for an iced latte/shaken espresso. Obviously not ideal but given the application I thought the 3700 would be sufficient. Pulled my first espresso this morning and it wasn’t very good-even when mixed with milk and hazelnut syrup. Looking for advice in two areas… 1. I’ve read multiple 3700 reviews saying I need to buy a bottomless portafilter (came with a dual walled one). 2. In a hurry I grabbed a can of Lavazza espresso (intensity 5/10). Will the filter make a big enough difference to purchase? It’s almost half the cost of the machine… lol. I’m guessing my choice of bean was poor. For what I need the espresso for do I really need to grind my own beans? Can I just get Starbucks to grind it and keep it in a bag? Lastly, can anyone recommend a good decaf brand? I switch it up depending on the time of the day. Any thoughts are appreciated.
