Just listened to Native Invader for the first time..

Never got round to listen to it before today, still catching up on a few of her albums and usually really taking it slow in order not to overload my senses. But In Times of Dragons put me on such a trip in the last 2 weeks that I couldn’t resist checking it out. And woaaah that thing is a masterpiece!! Fuck. I need to put it away again fast and go back to In Times of Dragons now otherwise I‘ll get completely disoriented. But honestly….speeechless. The more I listen to the more I get the impression that it is possible that actually all 18 albums are bangers...

Much love to John Philip Shenale!

2 weeks into listening to In Times of Dragons and having watched the super insightful „introverted“ podcast the other day, I felt it is time to appreciate his absolutely gorgeous, deep, brilliant work on this album. They created magic together. Just spent some time with „Flood“ and it left me speechless. It is a reminder to the musicians among us to dig deeper, deeper, deeper.

Live - Thoughts.

Been discussing earlier today what it was like to see Tori Amos live when they toured the Choirgirl album (“Plugged Tour“) in another thread. That reflection got me thinking about the current tour.

Back then we/I somehow took her for granted. You go to the gig, you get completely and utterly blown away, digest it and then you get on with your life. I know in hindsight that these were very special, singular events that will never be repeated and that will have their place in the memory of humankind through the footage that exists, luckily.

My point is: If you see her live on this tour: Cherish it. She is touring a great album at a later stage in her career. Take every second in. This is special. There will not be another one like her.
