Hi Reddit! I’m not a first time user but a first time poster.

TLDR:
I (mid 20s F) have developed feelings for my best friend’s brother (mid 20s M), who I’ve lived with since 2022 after they helped me out during a sudden housing change. Over the years, we’ve become very close and he’s consistently been kind, thoughtful, funny, helpful, and supportive toward me. I genuinely admire him and would probably pursue something if we didn’t currently live together. My hesitation comes from not wanting to make things awkward for my best friend or risk disrupting our living situation and friendships.

I (mid 20s F) have developed a crush on my best friends brother (mid 20s M)
I met my best friend in 2022. We were friends for about a few months before I was invited to move in with her and her brother (as my living situation had changed rapidly, they took a chance on me) so I met her brother before moving in to ensure everyone was a good fit. Since 2022, I have continued to live with them, my best friend moved in with her girlfriend late 2025 and I have been single for a year and a half now. I have a fantastic relationship with not only my best friend, but her brother and family as well.
My friends brother is so smart, handsome, good hygiene, funny, offers to drive us places, helpful (i.e. will change my cars oil or do yard maintenance) thoughtful (i can mention needing to pick a few things up at the grocery store, but he will offer to do so if he plans on stopping by the store anyway) he has also been very kind to me when something makes me nervous (i.e. i was invited to play volleyball with him and friends. I shared that i was nervous to be hit with the ball while playing and at the end of it, he shared that he thought i did very well although i had a lot of discomfort.
all that to say: i am reluctant to share my feelings or to ask him out due to I wouldn’t want my best friend to feel weird and that him and i currently live together. It’s 100% something i would explore if we didn’t live together. My last important note is he has never had a girlfriend or a romantic interest of any kind. Whereas, I have had two long term relationships in my adult life.

So I’d love to hear any and all advice!
