Do you ice your micheladas?

Coworker and I at a new spot I got hired are debating whether or not to put ice in a michelada for the sake of consistency. I've always been taught to put ice in them, but we're close to Dodgers stadium in SoCal, and he says they don't ice the michelas there, and also that we should never put ice in anything with beer.

Asking others at the same spot revealed that there doesn't seem to be a universal consensus on this. So I ask you guys, do you ice your micheladas or no?

I have been here for four years, and the owners randomly promoted our barback to bar manager, who proceeded to give me multiple write-ups within the same week and suspend me for giving guests cocktail napkins and chilling my martini glasses.

When I asked why these were deserving of writeups, she said that guests need to get their own napkins, because if I set one down when they don't want one, it is wasting napkin inventory. Additionally, chilling my martini glasses was deserving of an additional writeup, which led to a suspension, because "none of the other bartenders chill the stemware and it makes the rest of the bartenders look bad."

I signed the write-ups, was told I was suspended for not listening to management, and then went to CVS and bought a "sorry for your loss" card and brought it back to the barback-turned-manager who suspended me.

Not sure what I will do now, but wasn't about to put up with that nonsense. Now out of a job and looking at this as the push to do something else after ten years behind the bar.

Happy Cinco de Mayo, everyone.
