Question about Rav4 production delays

Hi everyone.

I've had a great experience with my 2017 Toyota but it is costing more in repairs to maintain. It's lasted 9 years with only wear and tear - not problems. But I've invested about $5K in replacing parts that have fallen apart from years of use.

Because the Rav4 is made in Woodstock, and because I wanted to support Ontario workers, and keep the cost of gas reasonable, I ordered a Rav4 hybrid in August 2025.

Well, that 2025 Hybrid order took very long. The Rav4 is now going to be a 2026 when it eventually gets produced. I'm still not receiving any information about the car being in the production line and the dealership told me that they'll hear about it six weeks before it arrives.

So it looks like is going to take at least till July 2026 to get this produced. Probably a whole year or more since I paid that downpayment in August 2025.

So what are my options? If I'm going through this, others must be as well. Did you end up buying an alternative? What did Toyota offer, if anything, to keep you as a customer?

Thanks for any information. I know lots of people who would never accept this and leave. I'm still patient. But I do have a breaking point in which I'll look at other options.
