TD Bank locked me out of my account for 4 weeks because their own staff wrote my name down wrong. Now nearly broke and they say “nothing they can do”

in 2023 I opened a TD account at a branch. Brought my ID, the whole thing. Somehow the clerk only put down my first and last name and left out my middle name. Never noticed at the time.

Fast forward to nowand I’ve moved to the UK, my Canadian number is deactivated, and suddenly I can’t get past 2FA. Fine, I’ll just verify my identity another way. Except TD’s system flags a mismatch between my ID and what’s on the account because of the missing middle name. Their own error from 2023.

Been trying to sort this since April 24th. Every call I’m promised a callback. Never happens. Escalated to their Senior Complaints Office and they missed their own 3 day response window. Eventually someone called me back and literally said there is “likely nothing they can do.” Asked about video verification and they refused. They keep telling me to go to a branch... im in the uk with no money expected to fly back to fix their mistake??

I have over $4000 in savings I cannot touch. Missed UK bills. Credit score taking a hit. Nearly out of borrowed money now.

Got an OBSI complaint open and filed with FCAC but both are slow. Has anyone actually managed to escalate something like this at TD and get it fixed? Any contacts or advice welcome.

Case 18562584 if anyone at TD is reading this.
