What are your favourite anecdotes of bravery among Napoleon's Marshals?

I'd love to hear some stories I've not heard before of Napoleon's Marshals and officers displaying their balls of steel if you have any!

I made this because I was annoyed with clicking

As someone who spends a lot of time researching and reading online, I noticed I kept repeating the same pattern whenever something caught my interest:

  • Highlight text
  • Copy
  • Open new tab
  • Paste
  • Search
  • Repeat

Being a somewhat impatient person, and annoyed with all the clicks, tab-opening and copy/pasting, I decided I wasn’t having it anymore and built a nifty little extension that would reduce everything to just one click.

Now whenever I highlight text on a webpage, a floating search menu instantly appears. Click the website you want to search on, done. You can add any website you want, and I spent a not inconsiderable amount of my time and sanity to make it compatible with most sites.

Demonstration of how it works...

I wanted it to feel fast, sleek and frictionless above all else. I use it constantly now and I can’t imagine going back.

I even added a handy little tracker to the extension that counts how many clicks, keyboard strokes and seconds you save every time you search with it compared to the usual copy→paste→open new tab method.

It’s been a labor of love, and I’m still improving it daily. That said, I’d love some feedback from those of you who use the internet to research topics and are prone to dive down rabbit holes like I am, and whether this is something that makes doing that a little bit easier. It’s called Swift Search, it’s 100% free to use and you can find it here. Thanks and let me know your thoughts!
