Do you HAVE to take the SIFT at the direction of your Cadre?

Moreover, is it required to be done BEFORE CST to compete for the Aviation Branch? I wanted to take it by myself at a big Military post without my Cadre being involved at all, but am not sure if my SIFT score will be allowed to pass through USACC if that’s the case, even though, to me, no matter how you take it, you’re a candidate. If I went to CST in the earlier months, got done, came back, took the SIFT immediately, then in December way later, branched, would that SIFT score be perfectly fine??? Thanks a lot.
