It started as a joke.

I wanted to know what it was about Erling Haaland that made me feel like this.

Then I remembered…I have a psychology degree.

So I made a survey.

85 women from different countries answered and it turned out I wasn’t completely alone.

Some of the responses were funny. Some were surprisingly thoughtful. All of them made me realise this wasn’t just about football.

🇳🇴 75% had watched Norway play because of him.
❤️ 59% rated him 8-10/10 for attractiveness.
✈️ 45% had considered visiting Norway.
💬 52% said he’d influenced what they find attractive in real-life partners.

The Haaland Effect.

Disclaimer: This was an independent, light-hearted project based on a convenience sample of 85 women. The findings aren’t intended to represent all women - they’re simply an interesting snapshot of one very unexpected phenomenon.

After developing what can only be described as an unhealthy obsession with Erling Haaland, I did what any completely rational psychology graduate would do and I’ve made a survey.

It’s called The Haaland Effect, it’s anonymous, takes about 3 minutes and I’m genuinely curious whether it’s my algorithm or whether we’ve all lost the plot.
