The CARE charity street peddlers are annoyingly persistent and it seems like it does a disservice to whatever charity they are trying to support

Getting fatigued by having to see these guys every day downtown. I just had some guy who looked barely over 20 practically follow me from the street corner to my office, making weird noises and gestures at me after I politely said “I’m heading to work, can’t stop right now“

I have to walk past these tables almost every day downtown, I’ve listened to their spiel many times, and it is shady. They don’t take cash donations, they offer credit card donations only on a RECURRING basis, as in you cannot do a one-time donation on the street. They want random passerbys to give them their CC info to be automatically enrolled in monthly payments to an organization that most of us won’t know anything about.

Looking into CARE online, I can tell they are a legitimate organization and the cause seems worthwhile, but the way they go about trying to get donations is weird and irritating. They don’t act professional and they cannot take a hint.

Came in for a flat tire, told I needed to replace two tires that were under warranty, now nobody knows how to reimburse and I don’t know what to do

I purchased a set of four Goodyear tires in April of 2025 directly from walmart’s website, shipped to my local store for install

This week, one of them went flat and I brought it to the same store to see if they could replace the flat. They told me I’d have to order the tire online and schedule another install. They and I had also noticed a bulge in another tire and said it would need to be replaced. I clarified with the guy who checked me in, the guy who temporarily patched my flat, and the guy at the counter, all three of them told me to order the tires and that after I pay out of pocket, I get reimbursed.

So I ordered the tires and came in for the service four days later when they arrived, and the guys who I dealt with today were completely clueless about what to do with the warranty. They were able to pull it up on the computer and see where it was active, but they couldn’t tell me anything other than “We can’t do that here.“ I got nothing when I asked who I should talk to in order to get reimbursed. I explained I had the receipts and proof of warranty and still nothing.

So I’m at a loss, does anyone else have experience getting tires reimbursed from them? Who can I call? What info do they need?
