Chargeback next step?

Hi! I purchased an e-bike via Walmart from Ancheer which is 3rd party retailer. It arrived broken. (Lesson learned)The battery should be detached. It arrived attached and then ripped off. I reached out to Walmart and they submitted a request on my behalf. The seller has 48 hours to reply. After 24 they did and asked for pictures. I sent those on 5/17 at 3am. This company only communicates in the middle of the night. I just happened to be up for the bathroom.
Anyway, I have not heard from them and it’s 5/20. I went back to Walmart at the 24 hour mark to ask a question and the rep said my best bet was a chargeback. I was stunned to see this was the first solution. I used my debit card so will that still be protected?

This morning they said that they would submit a return request on my behalf. However, they said it’s up to the seller whether or not they will accept the return request. The bike is used and broken and still partially in packaging. I’ll send it back for free. I’ll take a replacement. I just want a solution. I’ve had reps tell me different things. I’ve save screenshots of my convos with them. One says 48 hours, one said I need to wait 72(not true), one said chargeback and one said refund will come in 10 days. Last one says they’ll submit the request. They’ll email me a free return label once the 3rd party agrees. No one knows what’s happening.

It’s a birthday gift for my son whose birthday is this Friday. I wanted to try to get a refund so I could buy another bike in time for his birthday, but that’s not going to happen.

TLDR will Walmart accept a chargeback on debit card from sending broken bike? The Walmart rep suggested it.

Thanks!

Tipping

Hi all,

I have a Walmart+ subscription and was wondering: do you all tip the drivers?

As a European, we’re not really used to tipping for every service. I did tip in the beginning, but almost every time something still went wrong with the delivery: missing items, replacements without my approval, deliveries to the wrong address, etc.

And when I try to contact Walmart through the chat, they’re always unable to help.

So now I’m genuinely wondering: why should I tip upfront? To me, tipping is something you do after receiving good service. I understand that the drivers are not Walmart employees, and I do understand tipping culture in the US — I actually tip regularly in restaurants and for good service — but the idea of tipping before the service is completed just feels strange to me.

Curious to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Walmart.com shipped an empty box with only wrapping paper in it!

I put in an order on a Wednesday drop for 5 boxes of Perfect Order etbs. But the box that they supposedly were to arrive in was an empty box 📦😡. I disputed it with Walmart.com customer service and they refused to give me my money back. The problem is in the fedex system it shows as successfully delivered. Even though I have clear photos and evidence that shows that the box is empty. I am currently disputing it with my credit card company.

The box was clearly tampered with by either the warehouse or whomever was packing it as the tape was shown to be resealed.

Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Anyone else having issues rn?

I've been trying to get on my freaking app and it seriously won't do anything, I've even tried the website and have tried doing it on different devices as well as with wifi and without. I've been trying for a few hours now and I couldn't even get it to load the chat with customer service, I tried calling the 800 but it's just a dumb ai bot that really couldn't tell me anything. I know I can't fix it, I guess I'm just wondering if it is somehow just me for some reason lol today's been shit anyways so it might just be me idk.

Is it ok if I place a pick up order every single week?

Question for Walmart employees, do you find it annoying or rude if a customer places a pick up order once every single week? I've been using this service for like 3 months, I pick up my grocery once a week ( every Sunday). It saves me lots of time since I hate shopping. I know this is a free service with no extra charges but I'm asking because I dont want to be abusing this service. If you see the same person placing a pick up order once a week, do you get annoyed and say " its this guy again"?, I dont wanna be that guy and if it's thats how u feel then I'll just go back to shopping for grocery myself inside the store

Price tag flashing

It would be wonderful if us customers could make the little lights flash on the price tags like Spark people can.

Would be great if they passed this down to the people.

I feel terrible...

I paid for a three hour or less Express order. It got accepted right away and the person who I was sending it to received it in less than an hour.

The loved one is someone recovering in a long term facility after a stroke. His mobility is severely affected, but thankfully not his ability to safely eat and enjoy food.

I ordered from Walmart because I wanted him to get a hot meal he would like, plus some snack food and a little jar of seasoning to make the terrible facility food somewhat more palatable.

The hot deli food I chose wasn't available, but the shopper/driver did say he could sub a rotisserie chicken, via text.

I was at work, but I texted back in less than three minutes that the chicken was okay.

He replied "Eyez"

I have no idea what that means, so I responded via text, "?"

No further replies.

The app said he had already begun checking out. So I figured he couldn't wait those three minutes, which I understand since he's trying to make money. I believed there would be no hot food delivered, but the other stuff would be.

The drop off also required a pin code. I called and spoke with the driver and also texted him the code. The driver's first language wasn't English.

The things did get delivered, but there was a scramble at the facility because he demanded a code from the front desk person at the facility even though I already told my driver via a phone call and texted him what it was. I also had it in my delivery instructions that the order was allowed to be handed to the front desk person.

He told the front desk person he had to take the order back to the store, because whoever was on shift at that time hadn't been given the code. But the driver did have it, because I told him in two different ways. I had to be called at work to clear things up.

To sum this all up, I found out later that he DID sub the chicken and everything ultimately got delivered.

But before I knew that, I left a not mean, but not flattering, review due to lack of good communication.

Thankfully I didn't rescind the tip, which was $5.00 (33 %) on a 4 item shop and a trip less than one and a half miles from the store to my loved one's facility. The actual grocery total was $15.00, but of course the order ended up costing a good bit more due to the small order and express fees.

I now feel terrible about my review and want to update it because, ultimately, the job was done. Is there a way? I didn't see one.

A customer cursed angrily in the delivery instructions. I told him I should return it.

For context, I often take a GMD route at the end of the day that brings me back home (it's a town a few miles beyond my tiny town, but basically it turns into a $50/20 mile route since I'm headed that way anyway). I don't live terribly far from the store (about fifteen miles) but it takes 25-30 minutes to get there. Tonight a customer left instructions saying essentially "Just give me my sh*t, you drivers are idiots. Screw you, and do your dam* JOB." So I messaged them nicely but sternly explaining that we are independent contractors and that Walmart does not dispatch the same driver(s) every time, so this hostile rhetoric is unfair, unneeded, and grounds for returning the items to the store. Honestly, I wanted to return it purely out of principle, but it made better financial sense to complete the delivery. So many customers treat delivery drivers like scum. It's tiring.

Ridiculously fast delivery, why?

I live in a rural area and generally order groceries online on Saturday night for Sunday pickup. I don't have Walmart plus. On 3 occasions I've had an item on the order that I expected to ship normally, arrive the next day. (Sunday) This is both unexpected and unnecessary. The items come in a regular grocery bag, not packaged with an address label. Despite not needing the fast service I would like to tip the driver but never hear them pull up. As far as I can tell I can't do it with my original order either. The items must come from a long way because my local rural store didn't have them, hence shipping in the first place.

What's the deal? Why are these items raced to me when I'm fine with standard shipping? Why deliver on a Sunday? How terrible is the pay for the unfortunate driver that is assigned to me?

Thanks

Walmart MasterCard pin number set up

Update for anyone interested; I called them again today and finally an agent was able to help me. She said the information under my name is incomplete (no address, phone number etc), which is why I was unable to set up a pin. Once she updated the information, I tried again and I was able to set it up with zero issues. I did ask why none of the agents I spoke to on Sunday were able to help me when it was such a simple fix and she said she'll look into it and see if there's a learning opportunity there.

Thank you all for responding.

I am an authorized user for my husband's MasterCard. Today I called to activate my card. It was activated just fine and then the agent said he'll transfer me to the automated system to set up my PIN. That's where the problem arose. The automated system prompted me to enter my pin or press # to skip. Since I didn't have a pin yet, I pressed # and then it said it can't help me and disconnected. Second time I called, I entered the pin I wanted to set up. No luck. It said it can't help me and disconnected. I called customer service three times almost begging for a human to help me set up my pin. No luck. All of the agents said I have to go through the automated system. None of them understood that the automated system keeps asking me for my non-existent pin and won't allow me to proceed to set up a new pin. Has anyone had this issue before and how did you go about resolving it?

Walmart + In Home question

Hopefully someone knows the answer to this. I just learned about In Home and no tipping. I’m on SSDI so this appeals to me, both because some days (ok, most) I have great difficulty bringing bags in that are delivered at my door, and, well, saving on tips. So I do plan on signing up. But here’s my question that I couldn’t find an answer to. Currently I can place an Express order for $3 or $6 extra to get it within 3 hours. Is that still an option if you have In Home? I would fully expect to tip on those Express orders as I do now. If that all makes sense?

Thank you Walmart for being better at electronics than BestBuy!

I called BestBuy to ask if they had any USBC-HDMI cables/adapters. After fighting the AI assistant I spoke to a real human that was not able to help me.

Then I called Walmart. They instantly picked up, no AI, and they had what I needed. I drove over and got it. Ezpz.

Walmart is the best!

What are some things that irk you as a shopper?

I'll start.

  1. People having family reunions in the main entryway or aisles.

  2. Couples / families walking side-by-side down an aisle, blocking the entire aisle.

  3. When people stand to the side of the aisle to look at something clear across the aisle.

  4. This one never made sense to me. They will have things on a table like baked goods, and have 3 products, some $4.88, some $6.88 and some $11.88, but their "policy" is to put the larger price sign with the highest price, so they throw away shit because most people will assume EVERYTHING is $11.88. Fucking make "$11.88 and under" or only put liked priced items on the same table/riser.

  5. Random ID Checks. Recently switched to liquid melatonin. It requires an ID to purchase. Next to the melatonin gummies, which don't require an ID.

  6. How many people miss the "card payments only" sign on the self checkout AND the red border and text that says it on the screen, just to bellyache that it don't take cash.

  7. Similarly...people who go through self-checkout then bitch they don't know how to use it. Go to a fucking LANE then.
