Walmart on Cattleman

Hi I have shopped Walmart on Cattleman just south of BeeRidge for years. I have always found it to be decently kept and decently stocked as far as groceries until this week(7/1/26). I was appalled at the condition of half of the produce. The green peppers looked one step away from being tossed— tiny and spotted with the beginnings of decay. Some of the produce areas were empty of everything. when I moved on to get my favorite brand of cheese, which in any store always has at least 10 or more varieties, I could find only 3 varieties, none of which were the one I was looking for. why would they no longer have an entire brand line?

I do not want to have to give up on Walmart — their prices fit my budget, which is the primary reason that I shop there. (Do not mention Aldi, i am not a fan) A secondary reason is that they are conveniently close to my doctors office so when I go to the doctor, I can easily stop at Walmart afterward.

Has the store had a change in management? I do not know what else could account for the poor conditions of the grocery section.

Are stores sending bugs in their shipments?

I will not name the store, but I have been ordering a lot of clothing because I cannot get out to shop. The clothing is delivered in cardboard boxes. Suddenly I seem to have a lot of big Palmetto bugs in my house. I live in Florida, I know there are palmetto bugs here, but up until recently I have never seen More than one a month in my house, and when I have seen them, they are already in the act of dying because both of my connected neighbors have exterminating services.

Because I have a pet, and because I was only seeing bugs very rarely, I have been reluctant to have my place sprayed. Tonight I have seen four of the bugs already, one of which landed on my arm, and I had a delivery of three boxes from the same company in the last two days.

Fortunately, several months ago due to mosquitoes getting into my house, I bought a bed mosquito tent so the mosquitoes would not bother me at night. I had not used it in a while, but tonight I got it out so that I could sleep without fear of palmetto bugs crawling on me while I slept. I also plan to take it with me when I have to stay in a hotel next month because I have a fear of bedbugs.

People buying subs and complaining about waits, why not just buy the makings and prepare your own subs?

I enjoy a sub now and then but sometimes i buy the meat and make them on the daily at home. Do you just like the convenience of someone else making a sandwich for you, or do you not want to buy the add-ons? Or is it the sub rolls? Even tho Pub sells packages of hoagie rolls, they are not the same as the sub rolls, but Publix will sell you plain sub rolls if you ask.

Is this too dressy/formal for a 4 pm garden wedding at a nice venue?

Old g’ma, can’t get out to shop, my size is awkward—short/fat. The wedding is formal but garden. IDK what that means. I don’t want to look wedding party so am avoiding pastels, looking mostly at navy. So far they all seem dark and overly embellished. I would remove the beading and sequins. Am almost out of time.

What is a food you have seen often on menus, but have never tasted and have no interest in trying it?

For me, it is bread pudding. I have seen that on menus my entire life, but have never felt it would be something I would like. Does anyone actually eat it?

Unused bathroom

I have read some of the past entries about toilets that were unused for a long period of time. I am in that situation. I am elderly. the main bathroom in my condo has been unused for at least three years. It is an en suite bathroom in a one bedroom condo. The bedroom itself has the door closed and I have been sleeping on a small bed in the study. There is a half bath off the study, which is where I get washed. I wash my hair at the kitchen sink since that faucet is high enough to get my head under.

This situation began when I started to get ready to have my main bathroom remodeled. The main bathroom is very small. I planned to have the tub removed and replaced with a walk-in shower. however sharing a wall with the tub area is the bedroom closet. I started to take everything out of the closet, piling it up both in the bedroom and out into the living room area. I wanted to be able to expand the size of the bathroom by utilizing some of the closet area. After pulling everything apart I suddenly became very ill and could not continue the cleanout nor deal with all of the items that had been pulled out of the closet. I closed the bedroom door And started sleeping in the study because I could barely move from my bed to the bathroom or kitchen. sleeping in the study allowed me to be closer to my doors in case I needed to get out quickly and also closer to the kitchen and to the laundry area. I needed to be able to take as few steps as possible to get around, and this was my solution.

I know it sounds silly, but I am now afraid to go into the bedroom and confront what might be happening in the bathroom. I have no one that I know personally who can come and look things over for me and I literally do not know what to do next about the situation. At this point, I would just as soon give up the idea of tearing out walls in the bathroom. I am thinking that I might be able to get by with just having the tub cut so that I can step in and out more easily. But I am afraid to go into that area because I am afraid that I might encounter the giant Florida Palmetto bugs in there. I am so deathly afraid of them.

I hope that you are reading this with the right frame of mind, picturing a very elderly person who can barely get around in their living space and does not know what to do exactly to solve this dilemma. Should I just hire a pest service first? I believe even if I did, I still would not want to go in that room afterwards because I would not want to see any dead bugs in there . I look forward to getting advice from Reddit users. Most of you are pretty tough on people who post their problems. hit me with your best shot, but remember, I am as old as your own grandmother – – or probably older, so use big gloves.

Half my delivery missing!

So annoying! I cut the delivery driver tip in half today because half my order was missing. No explanation. Walmart could care less. Immediately refunded missing items, no questions asked. But none of my holiday treats were delivered. I bought them to bring to my kids’ house today. Now i have nothing. Super annoyed. Their service is not dependable!

Gravy! Help!

I love real home made gravy and know how to make it from scratch so i do not need advice on making it. However, because i live alone i seldom cook something from which i can make a gravy (i.e. i do not cook roasts or chickens). I DO NOT like any of the commonly found canned/jarred gravies but I would like to be able to enjoy mashed potatoes with gravy without making a roast. Does anyone know if there is a really good premade gravy? Please do not suggest the commonly found brands from supermarkets, whether canned, jarred or powdered. I have tried a premade gravy from the high-end deli in my area, where they make their own turkey and turkey gravy, and it was completely ugh to me. I’m looking for some that are as authentic as possible, beef and turkey.

I am so disappointed. I have been promoting Walmart consistently over the past couple of years because I felt their quality was good and their prices were low. Just a month ago the six packs of soda that I buy had been rolled back to $4.27 a six pack. I went to buy some today and it was up to over five dollars a six pack. not only was the soda much higher, but Other items that I was used to buying regularly all seem to have taken a big jump in price. Does anyone know why this is happening?
