It was a mistake trying to regain the control of Jurassic Park?

Let me explain.

The greatest main threat (the escape of the 3 velociraptors), 2 of the 3 “good guys” deaths (Arnold and Muldoon) and the most serious non-fatal injury (Timmy’s electrocution) all happen while trying to "reset" the Park. Those consequences were arguably far worse than the results of Nedry’s sabotage itself (the T. rex escape, Gennaro’s death and four injuries of varying severity, excluding Nedry’s own death).

And the outcome could have been even worse without the movie’s final “Deus Rex Machina”, with the raptors killing Grant, Ellie, and the kids.

Given everything that happened, wouldn’t have been more reasonable for Hammond, Malcolm, Ellie, Arnold, and Muldoon to wait near the bunker until Grant and the children (who “only” had to avoid the T-Rex) reached the visitor center, and then for all 8 of them to stay together in the bunker and wait for the park workers on mainland Costa Rica to eventually realize something had gone wrong and return to the island somehow?
