If the hunters hadn't panicked, would they have been able to fight off the T Rex attack?

If the hunters hadn't panicked, would they have been able to fight off the T Rex attack?

They'd still be caught off guard, but we see at least a few of them retaining their firearms and actually shoot at the Doe to apparently no effect. Not a firearm expert so I have no idea what rifles they're depicted having or if those were enough to seriously harm/kill a rex.

Roland would still not have his elephant hunting rifle ammo (or whatever it was) since Nick stole it.

For a what-if scenario 2, you can also imagine Roland wouldn't have access to the tranquilizers either.

Turns out the mutant T-Rex in Rebirth is a MUTANT (not a freakin hybrid)

For content, the rebirth DLC for Evolution 3 came out a month ago and during the final part of the DLC, the D-Rex breaks out, and instead of confirming that it's a hybrid like some fans want to shove down our throats and try to make it seem like it's facts that it's a hybrid, instead the DLC just put out that it has birth defects and mutations, because you know that's what it is! A mutant dinosaur! Plus the fact that whatever they were during to it made it stronger despite it's obvious health issues. So from the start, we were simply dealing a genetically modified T-Rex that went wrong, and the worst part, they continued to modify it even though it has these defects.

So I guess we can't take the Director's words as facts as even the film he made didn't bother telling us if it was a hybrid.(even though it cleanly isn't.) Like it had to take a damn park builder game just to give a somewhat clear answer, even though anyone with common sense could just look at the film and compare the two "mutants" and say "Hey the Mutadons are hybrids because it's tank said it is a hybrid, and D-Rex is just a fucked up Rebirth T-Rex"

owen grady fanart! 🦖 art by me

"Close the gate." One of my favorite moments from Jurassic World! 🦖 Owen Grady is just so dope! You just can't get any cooler than a Velociraptor trainer. 😂 Would you train velociraptors if you had the chance? 👀

What dinosaurs would you replace if the film was accurate to its name?

As much as I love Jurassic park a lot of the dinosaurs besides from a few herbivores are actually from the Cretaceous period, so if you were to replace them with actual dinosaurs what would they be?

The ones I personally would do would be

T Rex- Allosaurus

Velociraptor- Tanycolagreus or Ornitholestes

Triceratops- Stegosaurus

Compsognathus- Probably a Segisaurus or something similar

I'm pretty sure Brachiosaurus or whatever it was called is from the Jurassic but I'd replace it with an Apatosaurus.

Do we ever get a canon explanation for why the dinosaurs didn't stay away from the fences?

Animals kept within electric fences usually don't approach them again once they've learned that the fences are electric. You can usually turn off the electricity after a while, and the animals still stay away from the wires.

This is even mentioned in the Jurassic Park novel, after the electricity go out, as a reassurance that they're probably safe.

But they're not safe at all, the dinosaurs apparently don't behave like cows, goats, pigs, geese etc. They break out almost immediately. Why do they do that?

It's canon both in book and movie that the raptors attack the electric fences all the time. In the book, no reason is stated for it, but in the movie, it's said to be to test the fence for weaknesses. But all the other ones? Why did the T-rex put its front claw on the fence, for example?

The Lost World VHS case was so awesome with the motion card, I wish they did this with the Blu-rays

Things weaken Jurassic World

One problem with JW is when you have so many visitors and make the dinosaurs breaking loose so unimpactful and almost zero consequences , it just makes audience dont give a care at all .

No visitors are harmed or killed making the incident feel like a walk in a park . Once the island is shutdown everybody is safe and sound , the park becomes a shielded laser area for dinosaurs arena . Lets imagine if this is a zombie movie , effective way is to make people in danger . There will be a lot of tension and thrill . You cannot make a Jurassic movie with 99.9% of people being exempt from danger , it just doesnt work .

What's even bizzare is releasing a T-rex , in fact , this is actually a very illogical and contradictory move . I mean when a lion is out of the cage , then you decide to open the gate of tiger ? It just fundamentally makes no sense . It feels like pouring gas to a fire .

The more effective way to portray the JW is to focus on the visitors in danger , we dont need thousands of NPC that are irrelevant to the incident . Or at least make some portion of people in great danger if population is that massive .

Another thing is the i-rex's escape , its a extremely underwelming sequence . One reason for that is it basically restrict the threat level of the movie , what is better in my opinion is to make the breakout sequence more massive in scale and higher in severity . Because the movie we got actually feel very small scale and regional .

What do you guys think ?

Does the franchise still have hope?

I'm making this post in a very simple, ''lazy'' and ''tired'' way. The Jurassic Franchise has a special place in my heart, the first film that i've ever watched was The Lost World: Jurassic Park. It was basically responsible for making me who i am today, and i'm grateful for that.

I have watched all of the movies, and i love all of them, even the most weakest ones, but i cannot deny that it has many flaws, and also wasted potential, but either way, i enjoy all of them. Recently i started to see more videos of people talking about how the franchise downgraded, specially after Rebirth.

It is fine to hear other people's opinions, and they do have a point, but at the same time, i feel hopeless for the franchise now. We're gonna have a new film that probably won't have a great story, but everyone will go see it because of our love of Dinosaurs, it'll make money, and they'll do another film over and over again. Without going further on having better ideas and just, try to repeat the same thing of the first film.

I have a wish to make a Jurassic film, either as a writer or a Director, i have great ideas for the franchise, and saw other people's ideas that i would love to see in the films. But at the same time tho, i'm not feeling excited the way i used to anymore. People are saying that it's best if they just rebooted the franchise or even make a remake of the first film, which i am deeply against it.

For me, the first film is a timeless masterpiece who provoked a feeling that no other film in the franchise had managed to redo again, in my opinion. And also, i'm an artist and i value other people's work, and seeing that the work of the people behind them aren't valorized enough makes me sad, even if the result isn't perfect, they did the best they could.

Anyway, this is just a post of me just, i don't know, putting out some of my feelings and frustrations that i'm having right now. Say what you think of it, or... if the franchise, still has hope. Bye. :)

Finished Jurassic Park the Game

Just finished the Jurassic Park the Game within 24 hours or downloading it. Quick thoughts, it's more of a movie than the game in itself. The QTE did catch me off guard but it's easier to finish it well within 24 hours as I did. The Jurassic Park lore expansion is so good and original with its own specifics like Isla Nublar being Nima's home, The island bombing, more exploration on the Geothermal, some of the unopened rides and exhibits like Bone Shaker with the Herrerasaurs being the alternative to raptors just in case, Dr Laura Sorkin and her eco terrorism, and her own Troodon and the Marine Exhibit was just too cool. It actually felt Jurassic Park-ey than most sequels. This definitely could've been the second part with TLW being the conclusion for the original trilogy. All in all, gameplay is alright but man the writers for this game put a lot of effort and time. More than Colin Trevorrow!

Just finished my first dinosaur drawing ever. “Never meet your heroes”.

My original idea was “the dinosaurs have come back, and you’ve left your door unlocked”. But then that would require the dinosaurs using doorknobs. So now the idea is they’ve come out of the tv after you left it on before going to bed. Shout out to my lady Dino nerds 🦖🖤

My drawing of The Rotunda T Rex (2021)

Pigma micron & Faber Castell brush pen on toned paper. This was yet again one of the most enjoyable commission pieces I worked on when it comes to toned paper. The banner wasn't that easy to draw, considering the folds and uneven shapes of the letters, but I think I managed to make it look alright in comparison with the original shot. Hope you guys like it. Cheers!

Am I the only one who loves a t rex being green ?

I have been a dinosaur enthusiast and a jurassic fan since my toddler years. I have always had a weird rule in my head, mainly for the jurassic series. And that rule is that a t rex will always need to be green. Now of course I don't believe that too much anymore but younger me had a weird obsession with it.

The moment I saw bull on screen, I immediately became amazed by him and a big reason I was so mad spino killed him is because he was the only fully green rex that I had seen. (Buck was green too but not as much as bull) and generally, t rex and the colour green was like my number 1 most liked pattern. I remember me not liking rexy purely because she wasn't green. Something about it felt so satisfying

Has anyone had a similar colour preference for any dinosaur? I wanted to share this.

How exactly did the dinosaurs escape?

This may be a dumb question but after Jurassic World, how exactly did the dinosaurs escape their enclosures? I know they lost power on the island but surely the gates would've remained closed. Because in Camp Cretaceous and Fallen Kingdom, they never showed many dinos getting freed from their enclosures.
