Having finally read (most of) the first book I am more convinced than ever that the JP franchise would be far better rebooted as a TV show, more faithful to the novels and therefore a little darker. They could begin with some fleshed out origin stories, before moving to the disastrous first tour. There’s so much more potential in a reboot closer to the books than whatever it is they are trying to achieve with the Jurassic World films. The new Harry Potter series on HBO is a good test of audience appetite for well established film series reboots. What do you think?

My friends and I have been using the league feature in the parkrun app, it’s good fun (especially as it uses Age grade not overall time) but we feel there should be bonus points for running with a buggy. Which leads to the question: should parkrun have buggy runs tagged as such, it wouldn’t be hard to do at the barcode scan point, and would be quite cool. Furthermore, could there be other tags?

I'm trying to connect to a Semantic model through Onelake catalog in PowerBI Desktop. I have tried to select edit as opposed to connect and I have the following error message "Live editing is only available for semantic models using Direct Lake".

The strange thing is - my colleague is able to connect to the same semantic model using the edit mode! So clearly the model is set up to use Direct Lake and editing via PowerBI, just not for me...

I've tried updating to the latest version of PowerBI but that's brought me no joy, so now I'm wondering if there is some config we are missing? Both of us have full access to the workspaces and models

I’m hearing murmurs that the Macarena wing might be banned for next year on safety grounds following Verstappen’s incidents. Does anyone else think this is unnecessary stifling of innovation?

I appreciate the safety concerns, but Ferraris wing is working fine, so the wing isn’t actually the problem, more poor design by Red Bull.

Personally I think it would be better to introduce a safety rule that penalises teams for dangerous incidents caused by poor implementation of a design concept. A time penalty in the next race for example. That way teams would only release design concepts when they can be sure of their safety and we can keep rewarding innovation.

Ferrari shouldn’t be punished because another team can’t execute the concept

So I’ve just read this article that players are protesting over pay by reducing their media commitments. This despite the fact prize money has increased 20%, with the top prize up £600,000 to £3,600,000.

I found a ticket when my wife went to court one, it was something like £30 in week one 20 years ago. Now it’s 100 for the equivalent ticket. Compared to inflation the price of a ticket has doubled.

Honestly, it makes me sick. I know being a lower end player is tough, but for top 20 players to be protesting when they will likely walk away from Wimbledon with at least 2 years salary of the average Brit (and likely ten times that) is a bit much. I’d be more on board if they were calling for a reduction in ticket prices, or greater equity across the board. But not this. It’s disgusting

I saw this on BBC news and wondered what other people thought?

Personally I don’t like it when a fixed percentage service charge (12.5% for example) is added to the bill. It takes the same amount of effort to pour me a cheap glass of red as it does and expensive glass, so why should I tip more for the latter? The price on the menu should reflect the price I pay at the end, and if I think I’ve been served particularly well it’s down to me to provide a tip, instead of having it imposed upon me.
