Are the queues for outside courts/food/drinks, etc. really bad in Week 1 of Wimbledon?

I've recently seen a lot of discourse about Wimbledon being far too crowded last year and how it took away from the experience.

I don't know if the opinions I'm reading are overly negative or if it really is becoming an unpleasant experience.

If you've been to Wimbledon in recent years, please share your experience of the atmosphere and the crowds. Any tips on what to expect and how to prepare would be much appreciated!

Keith Prowse Treehouse

Can anyone share their hospitality experience with the Keith Prowse Treehouse? This will be our first Wimbledon and first time with a hospitality package at a large event. It is a bucket list trip for us, eager to hear how it went for you. How was the food, snacks, space, other people--anything you can share is appreciated.

On site picnic anyone?

I swear I was starting to think it was a myth haha. Already had tickets for court 2 for day 7 but just got a ticket for Court 1 day 8 so gonna return the Court 2 tickets. So excited I'm finally gonna complete the fan slam!!! Also now thinking of getting a wimbledon picnic. Anyone also going solo on day 8 and wants to share the picnic? I could not possibly finish all that food by myself.

How much would the official ballboy exclusive babolat bag go for?

Hi, I’m looking for some advice on pricing rather than trying to sell anything right now.

I was a Wimbledon ballboy and have some official kit from the programme, including a Babolat backpack (from this year, unused), plus last year’s jumper and joggers. All official Wimbledon-issued gear, not retail versions.

I’ve seen not much actual data on what people are willing to pay for this kind of stuff, especially the backpack (because it's not available to buy officially), so I was wondering what collectors or tennis fans would realistically value these at?

If anyone here collects Wimbledon memorabilia or has seen similar items go before, what sort of price range would you expect for:

Ballboy-issued Babolat backpack (unused)

Official jumper

Official joggers

Just trying to get a realistic idea of value before I do anything with them.

Thanks in advance 👍

Security arrangements

Hi, has anyone received anything like this?

I don't want to sound rude but it was a bit odd to receive this as I am returning visitor for 3rd year in a row.

However, does anybody know if PDF bank statement be sufficient for those checks?

In my country we don't receive any paper bills or statements.

Also credit card I paid is virtual one, not a physical one, I hope AELTC know that those exist 😄

App won’t update

Hi all,

My mum was fortunate enough to win tickets in the ballot, however she cannot download the tickets as we think her phone is too old to update the app.

What other options are we likely to have? Would I be able to log in through my phone and have both tickets on one phone? Or will be Wimbledon be able to print physical tickets?

Many thanks in advance.

Day 3 advice

Hi all,

We were incredibly lucky in the ballot and managed to get CC tickets for Day 3. I’ve been a tennis fan all my life and have watched Wimbledon every year from a very young age so it feels a bit like a dream come true. Unfortunately, living a bit too far away has always put me off taking a chance with the Queue, so I’m absolutely thrilled to finally be attending this year.

We’re staying in Fulham and would love to make the most of the trip and soak up as much of the Wimbledon atmosphere as possible.

One question: our tickets are on the same row but around eight seats apart. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there usually any chance of sitting together? I suspect our best option is to politely ask the people between us if they’d be willing to shuffle along, but I’d be interested to hear if others have had any success with this.

Any other tips for getting the most out of the day would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Parking advice

Any experienced queue-ers out there?

Thinking of grounds passing it this year for either week 1 Friday or Saturday. When I’ve gone previously I’ve just got the train down but would like to drive this time so I don’t have to rely on train times.

Don’t have a huge budget so can’t imagine I’ll be able to afford parking very close to the grounds. Where can I look to for parking? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated :)

(also can’t believe it’s grass season already, let’s gooo!)

How cool 🙌🏼

Hope you don’t mind me sharing 2 charms I’ll be wearing this year. My friends don’t share the same love for tennis, so I thought I’d share with my people on here. It’s almost time! 🎾✨

Baby/stroller at Wimbledon

Hi!

My husband, our 1-year-old daughter, my mother-in-law, and I will be in London during Wimbledon. My mother-in-law is a huge tennis fan, so we're hoping to take her at least one day.

We're planning to queue very early, but are there any other tips for increasing our chances of getting in? Is it impossible with a baby? If so I will enjoy the day with her in London while my husband and mother-in-law goes to the tennis.

Our daughter comes along to most of the things we do. She's a happy, easygoing baby who loves being around people and taking everything in, so I think she'd enjoy the Wimbledon atmosphere as well. Does anyone have experience visiting Wimbledon with young children?

If I understand correctly, children below a certain age aren't allowed on the main courts, and strollers need to be left in a designated area. Is that right? Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Is this dress okay for Wimbledon?

I was thinking this with a straw bag, some espadrilles and maybe a cardigan? Or is it too short? It does have shorts in the dress.

I did originally want a midi dress but I'm really struggling to find anything I like.

Update.. I'm going to wear another dress 😄 thankyou all for your help

Polo Ralph Lauren x Wimbledon

How fast do the PRL Wimbledon items sell out in Ralph Lauren's London shops? What are the chances of them still being available in two weeks?

(A very late) ticket newbie asks for clarification

Hello
I really hope this post does not breaks any rules, I read Wiki, FAQ and some other links there, but still not sure if fully understands, thus this post.

My father is turning 60 this July and with my family we've just got an idea of buying him a Wimbledon ticket, as he's been always a tennis fan since studies and never been on any real tournament.
Apparently it's about 9 months too late to start looking (never ever been into it before, I know it's obvious to all of you here, wasn't for me till 2 hours ago), but regardless I tried.

What I understand is:
- Ballot is long gone, access for ballot resale got only people who signed to the ballot - not possible
- Morning queue is not available for finals part + requires up to 24h waiting - not possible
- There are two recommended external sites listed in wiki (debentures), they even have some tickets available, but for one is only selling them in a sets of 2 unfortunately - I assume it's a valid option anyway?
- After some web search I found some other websites which doesn't feel like scam for the first look (not sure if allowed to link here, so like this: seatsn**.com for example - and some more), is it the same pool of debentures tickets as those recommended, or something else? I know nobody here is going to guarantee it's not a scam, but is there even a chance they are legit?
- There is a mention in the wiki, that it's not possible to but ticket for someone, as a gift, as it requires a Wimbledon app, is it also true for those unofficial resales?
- I've seen that starting prices for finals were 250-350£, now they are starting at 2000, it is standard?

Sorry for all those questions, but I'm completely new (as you can easily say), never expected to be looking to buy those tickets and never expected it'd be so complicated, so please don't eat me alive here :D

court 1 on final day

hi all! i have managed to grab court 1 tickets for me and my dad on the day of the final. i am over the moon! although i know that nothing exciting happens on court 1 the final day as all eyes are on the centre court. this is very personal but my dad is ill, and i would do anything to make it a memorable day for him as he’s the biggest wimbledon fan and has never seen the tournament/ the club in person. do people know if there’s a chance to see the winner on the balcony, or any recommendations for fun things to do there the day of the final? thank you ♥️

Calling Wimbledon Veterans 🆘

Hi all,

This year will be my first time attending the Wimbledon Men’s Final and I’m just looking for a bit of help.

I have a Centre Court ticket and I’ll be travelling in from Chiswick. I have chronic pain, so I’m trying to make the day as smooth as possible and avoid unnecessary walking or standing where I can.

A few questions:

•If coming by Uber/taxi from Chiswick, where is the best place to be dropped off on Finals Day?
•How bad is the traffic likely to be and how much extra time would you allow?
•With a Centre Court ticket, do I need to queue anywhere when I arrive, or can I head straight to the entrance?
•Are there any tips you’d give a first-timer to make the day easier?

I’m autistic so I’ve done a lot of planning already, but I’d love to hear from real people who’ve actually attended the Finals and know the practical realities on the day. This is my last sanity check.

Thanks! 🎾
