Stella x Wimbledon

Hello

I’m a bit sad Wimbledon is over for this year.

I have a question about the sponsors. Last week when in the Queue village we received a branded Wimbledon x Stella tote bag.

I’m from Belgium where Stella is closer to the cheapest beer you can get. The beer students drink and spill on the ground. Festival and carnival beer

There is really nothing special nor premium about that brand. Mass-produced. For the masses.

I was a bit puzzled to see Stella associated with Wimbledon. Is this tongue in cheek? Am I missing something?

With CitizenM out — where (non Marriot) is everyone going instead?

As noted several tools in this sub and per my own experience — since Marriot acquired Citizen M price is up, support and service are way down. I’ve cancelled my membership.

I wonder whether Citizen M travelers are moving to? The Hoxton?

QR code for dinner at home

Hello,

There’s a discussion going on in r/belgium where someone claims that in the Netherlands, when you’re invited for dinner at someone’s home, the host will sometimes ask guests at the end of the meal to chip in for the costs. And they will offer a QR code to pay.

I pushed back on this because I simply can’t imagine it’s actually a thing.

Am I wrong?
