Mata Shakhumbari Devi Shaktipeeth at Saharanpur, a living example of culture and heritage protection by Rajputs

Jai Mata di,

Recently I had the pleasure of visiting the holy temple of Mata Shakhumbari Devi at Saharanpur.

When there was drought and lack of food then Mata Durga took form of Shakhumbari devi and fought with demons who caused the drought for 100 years, Mata also provided green vegetation for survival of sages.

While the temple itself was established in the Mahabharat era, later it was restored and maintained by the Rana family of Jasmour estate who are Pundir Rajputs. The temple was developed by Rana Bahadur Singh ji Pundir of Jamsour during 1960s.

Mata Shakhumbari Devi is the kuldevi of Rana family and they perform the traditional kadhai anushthan every year on dwitiya of sharad navratri.

The temple is well maintained and during navratri and diwali festival mela is organised by Rana family who also are managing the temple and looking after all requirements of the area.

The temple which is known to be a sidhpeeth is also a shaktipeeth and it is said that Adi Shankaracharya also visited this temple when he was on north India yatra.

Nearby is the temple of Maa Chinnamasta and Bhuradev ji, also there is a very old cave of Maa Kali in the mountains. I had the privilege of visiting all the places and feel the high vibrations and aura of the area.

Rana family of Jasmour plays a vital role in managing the temple area and ensuring smooth travel for all darshanarthis. They hold strong political influence in the Behat Saharanpur region.

Rani Devlata ji was formerly MLA of Muzzafarabad and her son Rana Aditya Pratap Singh is the present head of the family and performs the temple duties also.

Earlier family was associated with BSP but later they have joined BJP and worked for development of the region including the development of roads and dharamshalas, also generating employment for 1000s irrespective of gender, caste and religion.

Overall, I felt blessed by Devi maa and also appreciate the efforts of Rana Family of Jasmour for their contribution towards protection and development of the temple and because of them we have access to the temple and darshan in present time.

If you ever get a chance, I recommend that you visit the temple once and feel the divine energy of Maa Shakhumbari Devi.

Adding some media from my journey for you all.

Jai Mata Di

Good places to visit in Meerut ?

Hi everyone, I am from Ghaziabad and whenever I cross Meerut I just stop at Mars and then get on the NE3. However last time my mom insisted to enter inside the city so we visited Abu lane and got Nan khatai from Ram Chandra Sahai which was amazing.

Now I want to visit more often so I need to know good spots to enjoy with family, whether it's food, shopping or just spending good time what are your favorite spots that you would recommend to me ?

Family likes the vibe of the city, they were excited after passing through the cantt and Abu lane.

Also any hack to not get into trouble while in the city ?

Thanks a ton
