Bloody Cat!
I have a bird box on the fence in my garden and in lockdown it helped successfully to raise a family of blue tits. Unfortunately since then our neighbour got a cat and the thing will not leave the box alone. We’ve put spikes on top of the fence, on top of the box and even built a cage around the box which put the birds off returning for the rest of that year. But they returned again this year until the bloody cat kept climbing up to the box and putting its paw inside. I haven’t seen them since but the cat is still hanging about (I spray it with water every time I see it!!). Have you any advice other than to move the box I suppose??. I can’t see it being successful on any other fences due to the cat but am thinking up high on the house??, this’ll mean it’ll face a different direction which I don’t know if they’ll want to be on or if they’ll try and find it once it’s moved??. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
