Feedback Request

Hi all, I've lurked this sub since starting my shop 4 months ago (I previously had a store on the same account years ago but then went on vacation mode for approx 7 years as I shut down and focused on my personal life). I want to thank you all in advance for any advice, and the advice I've picked up while lurking. I work in marketing (b2b automation rather than e-commerce) for my day job, so I may really just be overthinking it and over tweaking it, but I'd love any help you can give as I feel like I'm pulling my hair out with Etsy and making such little progress.

I'm really struggling to get any visibility in my store. I may get one or two views/visits daily at most these days when I don't use ads, and I can't afford to keep running them. I've tried eRank and put so much effort in (all listings are now the highest possible "score" in eRank, but no improvement in the output!)

  1. I know I search differently to others. I'm targeting the keywords "spell jar" and "potion bottle" as my main keywords. Can you think of any alternatives that you might search on? I know tend to be very literal with my keywords, and less good at anything like gift ideas/vibes keywords.

  2. My current keywords are all very low search volumes, so views and visits are low. Do you have any advice on ways to increase volume and vibe keywords without being too generic?

  3. I have items that sell well in person, but don't seem to get any visibility online at all. It's like people don't know to look for them. Any tips?

  4. Whilst I'm here, any suggestions on how I can improve my photography? This is new to me so any suggestions welcome!

I started my store because I couldn't find the exact niche items I was looking for. I specifically wanted a fertility spell necklace with baby's breath inside. Everything I was finding was just not quite right for me, and I loved making them so my store was born. I was also hoping that it might help to bring some income for a future maternity leave time to help cover small things like baby groups (though at this rate I'll be lucky to buy a coffee with it!)

Since starting my store, I've started also doing physical markets. Two of the items that translate really well in person I'm really struggling with on Etsy. I can't find anything like my "spell jar necklace craft kit" or "spell jar dowsing pendulum" online at all, and they're getting no visibility on Etsy either. I see various necklace kits and spell kits, but no combination of the two. Maybe they're not something people know they want until they see them?

I had my second show over the weekend. I was in a corner and I'm still really working out how all this works! I did better than I expected, but I didn't take as much as I'd have liked, really a couple of sales saved me and helped me to cover my fees for the day.

Unfortunately the stand came off of my frame that's laying on the table, but people still seemed to read and look into the bundles. They were interested in the gift sets, but no sales of them.

What can I do to improve my stall and layout?

I started out with necklaces, but they became such a tiny part at this market and quite hidden behind everything else.. I did decide I HATE the rummage bowl for keyrings as they all kept getting tangled, so looking into a rotating stand for next time. I think I also need to move the "make your own" kit boxes for next time, but I've not worked that setup out. Finally my runner looks a little low and my QR code is hidden with my business cards.. maybe less is more 😅

For info I'm based in the UK so our stalls are typically a 6ft table, no more!

Also, apologies I can't work out how to add a flair 🙈
