Is it reasonable to email them asking both for clarification and for reconsideration for rejecting my deferral as an international student? I already explained my financial and family circumstances and my conditional offer has been accepted.
Hello, I am an international student who’s applied for the 2026-2027 school year at Queen's Belfast University Law LLB, my conditional offer is complete the school year at my university which I have already done.
However, I need more time to work and save up money for financial aspects of the school year. Will Queen's accept my deferral to the following year of 2027-2028? What will I lose from it? For example, I received the merit offer scholarship, will I lose that? Will the offer be the same? Also, will I need to apply to anything more? How does it work and will they accept if I ask for a deferral because of financial reasonings? Please help!!!
Edit: This is an edit to that question, Queens rejected my deferral but didn’t provide a reason. They’ve accepted my conditional offer and confirmed my place, but said it can not be deferred. They said they will welcome another application from me in the next UCAS cycle, however, It will be very hard for me to acquire all the documentations again including my reference. What do I do? Should I email them back asking for the reason they’ve rejected the deferral or ask for a reconsideration? Or is that not appropriate. Please help, I desperately need this.
