Overwatch is running poorly, mainly stuttering.

Hello, so I am running MacOS Golden Gate DB6 and Crossover 27 Beta. I've been playing Overwatch on my 16" M1 Max MacBook Pro with 64GB RAM and its ran 120-145FPS at times on low. The main problem though is with freezing and stuttering. There'll be times where I am getting almost consistently 120+ FPS but then the system just randomly freezes and hangs. Lots of microstuttering. I enabled GPTK4, have Metal4 and DLSS enabled as well, and high resolution mode turned off. The bottle itself is Windows 10 and I'm launching Overwatch from Steam. It seems the performance gets worse with each update. Any tips in increasing stability and reducing freezing?

Asahi Linux install, which Fedora?

I am on the installer and i notice there are four options. GNOME, KDE, Server, and Minimal. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each. I've done GNOME before, but I wonder if I should try Minimal because I only use Niri with DMS or Noctalia Shell and none of the gnome apps.. ALthough, I havent set up a Minimal install yet, especially not with Niri.

Use Case of Local LLMs?

I am a total noob when it comes to local AI or even just using AI for anything professional, financial, etc. I do have capable local AI hardware. I use a MacBook Pro M1 Max with 64GB RAM. I just wonder, what is the actual use case of local AI other than for privacy and usage? I see that especially with reasoning and coding, local AI falls tremendously short compared to cloud models due to sheer hardware constraints, with flagship models like GLM requiring basically 300GB+ of RAM (made purely for mega AI data centers).

Like day to day, what actual truly productive, useful, and professional work do you guys utilize on your local hardware that you swear by and cannot live without? Like I've thought about maybe using it for private information, web scraping, etc but I just don't see the need compared to cloud models and I dont know the actual potential.

The nightmare will never end

Hello, I've never posted here but now I feel the need to. I don't know what the fuck to do anymore. I recently had a bout of thrush start a week or two ago in my mouth along with debilitating tongue, throat, and lip cankers everywhere.. Horrible referred pain in the ear and head.. Body aches.. Signs of infection like swollen stiff neck.. And more. I've gone through hell because this is on top of many other chronic health conditions and reactive conditions I have. I've been a hysterical, tortured mess all week.. And I thought it was starting to get better until recently I did some red light therapy. I did targeted red light laser therapy on my tongue cankers. What happened after is that I noticed a lot of debris and stuff like dead skin cells in my mouth detaching from my mouth and going through my saliva. The pain was reduced and it seemed like it kickstarted the healing process.. Thats until I get home. I goto brush my teeth and for whatever reason I decide to scrub my tongue like an idiot.. Then all hell broke loose. Since last night, its been relentless. Massive chunks of pure candida have been endlessly populating my mouth. I've been swallowing nothing but heaps of pulp and clumps of cells for hours relentlessly. My entire mouth feels ripped up, my glands and lymph nodes were swollen prior but are even more so now, and I feel downright MISERABLE. It wont stop. I cant keep spitting it out but I also dont know how much is safe to swallow. Been on Nystatin for three days now.. I dont know what to do. Every remedy like salt water rinses/gargles, coconut oil pulling, etc didnt garner any relief in the pain, rawness, or frequency of swallowing tons of grainy white clumps. I'm going insane. Does anybody know what the heck this might be. Should I goto a instacare? I've been to so many doctors in the past week. A GP, instacare, ER, and in the back of an ambulance for different things and they all said nothing was wrong and none of them suspected thrush or candida despite the obvious thick milky coating.

Question about Golden Gate Beta

Has anybody here successfully used Asahi Linux alongside the Golden Gate Beta? I know that early on, Asahi's partition disappeared from the boot device selection menu, but the Asahi devs in a recent post noted that it was due to a new flag that was added to MacOS that detects partitions. They claimed that when enabled, the boot entry for Asahi reappeared. I think they mentioned that they reworked the installer script to account for this, but before I proceed I'm wondering if since the supposed change, has anyone using the Golden Gate beta successfully installed and dual booted with Asahi Linux, and if so, did having Golden Gate break anything from within Asahi Linux itself?

On the fence about AppleCare+ for my MacBook M1 Max

Hello, I'm new here and also new to Apple as a whole. I recently purchased a M1 MacBook Pro 16" with the M1 Max chip, 64GB RAM, and 1TB SSD second hand for $900 including the magsafe charger and a sleeve. Although it was a great deal, something very interesting is the fact that its still eligible for AppleCare renewal. I have 13 days left to decide whether I want to get the annual AppleCare+ for $150 a year, monthly for $15 a month, or just not get it in general.

Its a hard decision for me because although the MacBook is in great working condition, its definitely been through a lot. It has permanent sticker marks, some scratches here and there on the chassis, shiny keys, a dent on the back corner and inner corner of the palmrest, and some permanent lines and marks in the display's coating it seems. Battery health is at 85%. I know that "accidental" screen damage can warrant a full display assembly replacement for $99 under AC, and that once the battery health gets to 79% it could warrant a free bottom chasis replacement but Idk. I tend to take very good of my technology and hardly ever travel. I usually have it docked, clean it with lens grade microfiber cloths, and take it in a protective fleece lined sleeve anytime I am about, so Idk if I need it. Furthermore, I could even sell it for more money than I got it and swap it for a better condition one.. But idk, then that defeats the point and allure of getting insurance for it.

I initially didn't think I would get a lot of mileage out of it due to being a laptop flipper and only really using laptops for browsing, but I found I've been using it for browsing, to play all my favorite games, running local AI, and I might use it for music production so its been my daily drive now. If anyone could help me decide if its worth protecting with the AC plan, let me know. I tend to be very wary of subscriptions and protection plans but in this case, I could get some peace and mind and maybe essentially an entire new laptop out of it visually.
