When I first joined Anime Amino, I actually made some of my very first friends through blog posts about our shared interests. You could even say Amino is what originally introduced me to the hobby of blogging about anime.

Because of that, I am looking for some Amino veterans to help beta test a new app I am building called Meika-chan: Anime Community.

Here are the requirements to join the beta:

You must be 18 or older.
You love anime and manga, and you enjoy writing blogs about them.
If your blogs were ever featured on Amino, that is a huge plus! However, it is definitely not required, what matters most is your passion for writing and sharing.

As a thank you for your help, anyone who joins during this beta phase will be rewarded with an exclusive Early Bird profile badge and an Early Bird comment theme.

Hey everyone! A while back, I shared my story about how Anime Amino changed my life while I was recovering from a car accident in 2015, and how my team and I set out to build the ultimate alternative after it shut down.

I've always believed that if the app you need doesn't exist, you have to build it yourself. Today, I am incredibly proud to announce that Phase 1 of the Meika-chan: Anime Community app is officially ready for Beta! 🎉

We have a massive roadmap planned, but to ensure a polished experience, we're rolling out features in phases. Here's what you can test right now:

📝 The Senpai System (Blogging)
Your blog, your fandom, your rules. Write reviews, seasonal episode reactions, "Top 10" lists, merch hauls, cosplay progress, con recaps, fan theories, or just a rant about your current obsession, if it's otaku culture, it belongs here. Our AI recommendation system automatically surfaces your posts to fans who selected those exact interests during onboarding, so the right people find your content from day one.

🗺️ The Otaku Map & Feed
Scroll our live feed and discover a community-driven database of real-life anime locations — themed restaurants, pop-up shops, conventions, and hidden gems fans have found around the world.

🏆 Contributions

The map is brand new, and we need you to help build it. Add your local anime stores, favorite restaurants, and past events you've attended to earn massive Otaku Level points for being one of the first to put your city on the map.
