Reality of HPCL/BPCL:
First of all, ye marketing companies hain, so engineering roles ki expectation mat rakhna. Tumko mostly marketing-related roles milenge.
Customer dealing, customers ke peeche jaana, sales badhana, petrol/diesel ki sales ke targets — ye sab role ka part ho sakta hai.
Luckily agar engineering role mil bhi gaya, toh remote posting, shift jobs aur unpredictable working hours mil sakte hain. Kahan day shift milegi, kahan night shift, kuch sure nahi hota.
6 days working hoti hai, aur day off pe bhi bula sakte hain. Bol denge ki compensatory leave de denge.
Lekin ek time ke baad ajeeb lagega jab tumhare IT wale dost Saturday-Sunday enjoy kar rahe honge, aur tum weekend pe bhi diesel-petrol aur operational issues dekh rahe hoge.
Coming to compensation — CTC bahut attractive batayenge, but don't get fooled by the CTC figure. CTC ka roughly half hi in-hand aayega, baaki PF, gratuity, retirement benefits, allowances etc. mein chala jaata hai. So sirf CTC dekh ke decision mat lena.
At the end, slow growth, remote/hard postings, location issues, shifts aur work-life balance ko bhi consider karna.
So juniors, please think wisely before coming to marketing PSUs.
Sirf PSU tag, job security aur CTC dekh ke mat aana. Job ka actual nature samajhna, phir decision lena.
