Took admission today..no option for "Others" in religion

The document verification ma'am asked my religion and i said it..and obv it wasn't there..andi just asked to put hinduism then ..then she said explaining to the other admin guy, ..no that's not hinduism .. that's Indigenous tribal religion. But they didn't even have an option for others too wth😭. Hinduism didn't have minority option so that guy said ..give it muslim hehe..option ayega 🤣🙏. . She said change it later 🥀

yes india is a secular country..

...now i wonder what option do those atheist/agnostics will put.

To all my 1st Year Juniors (Part 1)

Warm Welcome to everyone.

You guys are new here, so I just wanted to share something that I feel might actually help you in the coming days.

Right now, everyone is excited about college, meeting new people, joining clubs, exploring things etc. And honestly that’s how it should be. But at the same time, you’ll come across a lot of seniors who will try to influence your decisions in different ways. Some will genuinely want to help you, while some might have their own reasons for doing so.

Because you’re new and everything feels exciting right now, it’s pretty easy to get carried away. And sometimes, a decision that feels absolutely right in your first year can make you think twice about it later.

So I’m starting a series where I’ll share some things that I’ve learned during my time here. Don’t take it as a set of “instructions” or me telling you what you should or shouldn’t do. Think of it more like advice from someone who has already gone through the first two years and has seen a few things along the way.

And just to be clear, I’m no one to decide what’s right or wrong for you. You’ll make your own choices, and you should. I’ll simply share what I’ve experienced and observed. You can take it seriously, ignore it, question it or whatever you feel is right.

This was just the introduction. I’ll keep sharing things as and when they become relevant, rather than dumping everything on you at once.

Fees lene ke time pe to ekdam time pe hi chahiye madarchodo ko , Dues nehi bhar paye , chahe koy bhi problem reasons ho registration ke time sign hi nehi denge lekin abtak Water Supply ka problem solve nehi kaar paae ye log , aab kitna gaali du iin log ko ? Upaar se ye Dean SW subah subah dimag kharab kaar deta hai class pe parhane ke alawa sab kuch karta hai " mere toilet me paani kitchen se bhi jyada ata hai " , " mera larki bathroom me bohut paani waste karti hai nahane me " , " We are giving you the best facility compared to other institutions in Assam " Madarchod Behenchod !!!! Kudh Water Supply Engineering parhata hai behen la Lawra MC aaur saram nehi aata uuse itna bura haal hei hostels classrooms me , At this point I am not even sure mujhe frustration hai kispe .

The Eco Club’s Rs 2.2 Lakh "Swachhata" Scam: Why Bishal Thakuria & Co. Need to Go

Let’s talk about the Eco Club and its General Secretary, Bishal Thakuria.

Let’s break down the sheer absurdity of this Rs 2,22,400/- budget logically:

The Math Doesn't Even Math (Item 5): They quoted saplings at Rs 200/- each for a total of 50 saplings. For anyone who passed primary school, 200 x 50 is Rs 10,000/-. The budget lists it as Rs 9,000/-. If the current GS can't do basic multiplication on an official Gymkhana budget, why are we trusting them with over 2 lakhs of student money?

Premium Gold-Plated Manure? (Item 10): They are asking for Rs 8,000/- for "2 units" of manure. What kind of designer dirt are they buying at Rs 4,000/- a pop? Keep in mind, this is for just 50 saplings. That's Rs 160 worth of manure per sapling.

The Rs 60,000/- Snack Fund (Item 2): They allocated Rs 60,000 for "Refreshments" (1000 items at 60/- each over 15 days). Who exactly is eating this? Because we all know regular students aren't seeing these snacks.

Overpriced COVID-era Face Masks (Item 12): Rs 20/- per face mask for 200 masks (Total: Rs 4,000/-). It’s 2026. Standard disposable masks cost Rs 2 to 3 at any pharmacy outside the campus gates. Where is the extra Rs 3400 going bro?

Vanity Merch (Item 13): Rs 20,000/- strictly for "Caps". Swachhata Pakhwada is supposed to be about cleaning the environment, not outfitting the GS’s inner circle with expensive custom swag.

The Real Issue: A Club Built on Bias
The inflated budget makes perfect sense when you look at how Bishal Thakuria runs the Eco Club. It is an open secret on campus that this club operates on heavy bias. They gatekeep recruitment, freeze out genuine talent, and exclusively promote people from a very specific community.

When you build a club that functions as a closed-off echo chamber for your buddies, of course you feel comfortable dropping a Rs 2.2 Lakh budget for a 15-day cleaning drive. The Rs 20,000 in caps, the Rs 60,000 in snacks, and the ridiculous "miscellaneous" Rs 10,000 fund aren't for NIT Silchar students. They are for their people.

Most arrogant lady

This Supriya has no personality of her own the only thing she can do is project her power onto us juniors. Literally never helped any of us before and as soon as she got admin. Most idiotic choice to be a student representative honestly by the electrical engineering society. I noticed other seniors have completely stopped or reduced their interactions with us because apparently being arrogant and rude is totally fine but free and talking nicely with us juniors is "violating decorum of official group" Supriya didi please go learn some manners. Just because you got admission a year earlier doesn't make you the boss of us.
