Returning from overseas having done reg role for 16 months.

NCHD contract states “An NCHD who takes up appointment as a Senior House Officer having previously held a Registrar post will be placed on the equivalent point of the SHO salary scale.”

IMO saying as haven’t completed 24 months post internship can’t be placed on reg scale. (24 months would in fact be be done this July). Says Irish law says must complete 24 months post internship to progress to registrar.

Issue is that not asking for registrar role in Ireland but SHO level to equal the first reg step as have being that role for 16 months now and going into a scheme so have to go down to SHO.

they are only offering the SHO step as year since completing internship so step 3 rather than reg 1 equivalent of step 5

Any advice on other contacts or dealing of people within IMO other than the general enquiry email.

wondering how difficult to get title recognised from overseas on the pay scale. Is it hospital dependant or if you involve the union to get it recognised does this help.

Did 1 full year as reg after a period of time as house officer over there then about 4 months on reg 2 scale, or do they just go from year of graduation.

Also does anyone know if masters in science is recognised to pop up a scale also.
