Braddock Road Old Town Alexandria Fire

Not sure in those in the Old Town Area heard the commotion last night, but teenagers between the ages of 13-16 were shooting fireworks at each other. We saw them also shoot fireworks over a house that then caught on fire... article linked here:

We had called the police not but an hour before saying that this was going to catch someone's house on fire and then saw little to no police presence. We have video of fireworks going off over the roof of the house that is now condemned. 10 people were displaced due to this fire!

Braddock Road; Kids fighting

We're having a huge issue in the Old Town North Alexandria / Braddock Road metro area with kids going into the alley's behind our homes and beating the crap out of each other. There used to be a community police officer parked at all times outside the Section 8 housing, but the police have removed them a few months ago.

With school out, we're experience a huge rise in youth-crime in the area and are worried for their safety and our own. We've been attempting to deter them from our back alley's and yards, but aren't sure what to do. It got to the point where a kid was knocked out so badly, he puked and was unconscious for a few minutes. Last week we saw a kid with a knife, so we are worried it will escalate and a kid will be injured or killed.

If anyone has any suggestions to help deter this violence, please let us know. If you're living in the area, please continue to advocate for the community police officer to return. Please also install cameras in the back facing the ally's. Please be safe.
