How do you reconcile admiring Ronaldo while taking the allegations seriously?

Any Ronaldo fans here who think there's a real possibility the allegations are true, but are still able to appreciate him as one of the greatest footballers ever?

I'd especially like to hear from men, because I'm genuinely curious how you reconcile those two things.

For me, I can separate someone's footballing ability from their character. I don't think acknowledging that someone is an incredible athlete automatically means you have to defend them as a person.

What I struggle with are fans who insist, with complete certainty, that the allegations are false or "just fake accusations." None of us knows that. You can acknowledge that there wasn't a criminal conviction while also recognizing that the allegations are serious and treating the alleged victim with empathy instead of dismissing her outright.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be held accountable if he committed the assault. I'm interested in how people who don't automatically dismiss the allegations reconcile admiring his football while grappling with the possibility that he may have done something terrible.

Got treated like I was unbankable because my Aadhaar is from a village in UP

Need a sanity check on this ICICI experience.

I wanted to open a regular savings account to separate my savings from daily expenses. First, the person handling my online request kept insisting that I deposit ₹1 lakh while opening the account. When I asked if it was mandatory, she admitted it wasn't policy but still said she wouldn't proceed without it.

So I went to a nearby branch instead.

The branch employee looked at my Aadhaar, saw that my permanent address is from a village in UP, and immediately started talking about address verification issues. I told him I live in Delhi on rent and can provide a rent agreement, but he kept saying approval would be needed and it might get rejected.

What confused me is that I already have an HDFC account that was opened while I was living on rent.

At one point I asked him, "Are you saying people living on rent in Delhi can't open an ICICI account?" He said yes. When I asked him to give that in writing, he refused.

I'm genuinely curious: has anyone else faced this? Is this an actual KYC issue, or did this branch just not want to deal with the application?

Went to open an ICICI savings account, got asked for ₹1 lakh, then told my Aadhaar address was a problem

Am I crazy or was this ICICI experience genuinely weird?

I wanted to open a regular savings account with ICICI because I wanted to separate my savings from my daily expenses.

First, I got a call from someone after I submitted an account opening request. She kept insisting that I deposit ₹1 lakh while opening the account. When I asked if that's actually required, she literally admitted that it's not policy, it's just something they prefer. Then she basically said she wouldn't proceed without it.

That already felt off, so I went to my nearest branch with all my documents.

The guy there looked at my Aadhaar and the moment he saw that my address is from a village in UP, the whole conversation changed. He started saying things like "address verification won't happen", "approval will be required", "it may get rejected", etc.

I told him I live in Delhi on rent and can provide a rent agreement. He said maybe, but it depends on approval.

What annoyed me was that he wasn't even trying to help. It felt like he had already decided the answer after looking at my Aadhaar address.

I even told him that I already have an HDFC account and they had no issue opening it while I was living on rent.

Then I asked him, "So are you saying people living on rent in Delhi can't open an ICICI account?"

And he said yes.

I asked him if he could give that to me in writing.

Suddenly the answer became no.

I'm genuinely confused. Are there actually people here who live on rent in Delhi and have ICICI accounts? Because if that's true, then what exactly was I being told?

For context:

Salaried employee

PAN + Aadhaar available

Living in Delhi on rent

Aadhaar address is from my hometown in UP

Existing account with HDFC

Honestly the whole thing left me wondering whether this was a real KYC issue or whether they just didn't want to deal with someone whose permanent address is from a village.
