Putting My Wheel Back On

What's next?

- Remove the wheel centering stud.

- Hand tighten the remaining wheel bolt

- Tighten all 4 bolts in a cross pattern with the 1/2 inch impact wrench on high.

Some people do it this way, I'm curious how many.

I've had a 1 to 2 degree play in my steering wheel for a few weeks now. Very irritating to set the wheel only to have it drift ever so slightly. I've done different checks, not the ball joint, not the outer tie rods. It's a 2014, 500 Abarth with 70K miles so it could have been any of those, except that the ball joints are new. I almost went at the inner tie rod on the driver's side (the right inner tie rod, outer tie rod and ball joint were replaced new early during the rebuild project). I decided to look at the steering column and lo and behold the bottom u-joint didn't move when the steering wheel moved the 1 to 2 degrees! I replaced the intermediate shaft (actually was not so easy to find new) and now the bottom u-joint moves with the slightest input. I will say it was not fun getting up to the top u-joint on that shaft.

Just a heads up if anyone else has that annoyance.

(I wanted to add a video of the steering wheel play but it seems I can only add a video or a photo but not both, am I wrong?)

Got the OMP Super Quadro 330mm Fiat 500 steering wheel and hub installed, pretty straight forward, everything fit perfectly. I decided to just cut the horn connector off of the OEM steering wheel and use it on the OMP instead of chasing the pin outs. I was a bit concerned that I would have to adjust the seat (mine is fixed) but the driving position has not changed much at all. Feels great and I do have more clearance to get in and out now as well.
