iPad Air camera slot
I recently bought the MOFT Dynamic Folio for my iPad Air 13" through Amazon. I selected the option labeled “iPad Air 13” (M2 2024 | M3 2025), expecting the camera cutout/design to be specifically made for the iPad Air.
Turns out, it’s actually the same design used for the iPad Pro. The Air just happens to fit it too.
The case technically works perfectly fine, but I honestly hate how it looks. The oversized camera area made for the Pro looks really awkward on the single-camera iPad Air (photo attached).
At first I thought maybe Amazon sent the wrong version, so I ordered the exact same case directly from MOFT’s website. It arrived yesterday… and it’s the same thing. Same iPad Pro-style camera design.
I know this is probably a minor issue and I should just keep using it, but it genuinely bothers me that the case doesn’t feel truly made for the Air model.
Now I’m considering buying the ESR Shift Magnetic Case for the iPad Air 13", but before I buy a third case, I wanted to ask:
Does anyone here own the ESR Shift for the iPad Air 13"? Is the camera area actually designed specifically for the Air, or is it another “shared with the Pro” design?
TL;DR: A lot of brands advertise cases for both the iPad Air 13" and iPad Pro 13", but they just reuse the Pro camera design. Functionally compatible, yes, but aesthetically terrible for the Air.
