Advice please

Hi all,

Overall, I have been feeling pretty good, going to my clinical training, walking the dog and generally living life pretty happy. However, I have had an intermittent increase in light red blood drops with bowel movements, more so in the morning but can be at other times in the day. Pain is low right now to be honest. I am going about six times per day, which for me is good I have previously been going 15+ when in a bad flare. I discussed this with my IBD team and we noted bleeding being possibly inflammation, internal haemorrhoid or a fissure (probably less so due to low pain). I go to Greece on Monday for two weeks so wanted to see what people thought. For those who have had internal haemorrhoid/s is light bleeding common? If it was possibly an internal haemorrhoid should I be taking any additional supplements (fibre)?

Thanks

Giving up with running

Hi all,

I’m not down or sad. This post is more of a connection to anyone who is similar. I started running properly a while ago I’ve done the Great North Run twice now and have done multiple other half marathons. I signed up and got a place at Amsterdam marathon this year, I was very excited!

Today is the day I’ve given up with running. For months or to be honest as long as I can remember now I’ve been running around my estate with a nappy, praying for remission praying for things to settle down just enough so I can run without having to stop at a toilet or shit myself. Unfortunately it isn’t achievable for me. I’m

not anxious I’m more frustrated. Every year I have this disease the harder running reliably gets. I’m wondering now if running isn’t healthy it’s worsening the condition so I’m done.

I’ll return to weight lifting and walking but the running days and hopes I had are no longer possible.

Sorry if anyone else has experienced this!
