Its much faster then resetting but does it actually work like soft resetting? Or do I need to keep resetting?

FireRed Remixed is a ROM hack which changes nothing about the battles of the game. What it does do is give you access to every gen 1-3 mon without the need to trade or have special events.

The rules for this run were

1. I have to use ‘bad’ Pokemon
2. No items in battle
3. Set mode

I chose bulbasaur as the starter as I felt it gave the rival the most challenging team. The goat of this run was definitely lanturn however she was the last member I added due to when she was available. The pokemon that surprised me the most was sunflora. He was a beast in the early game even before evolving utilizing ingrain, growth, and mega drain. Magcargo felt pretty useless throughout the game especially with the late evolution level. Mightyena seemed good at first with early evolution and access to bite making Misty much easier. However with all dark moves being special in this game it struggled to contribute later on and I mostly relied on counter against physical attackers. Hypno was bulky enough to pull of para/flinch strategies and can occasionally power through with calm mind/ psychic.

This run was a ton of fun. Would recommend

Electrode used self destruct first move before I had a chance to sleep powder. First shiny I’ve ever seen and been playing since 2001. 🪦

I came up with this team in the Pokémon planner for Fire Red and wanted to know what you guys thought about how I could make this better. I would also appreciate if anyone would recommend what moves I should use for each mon. I will say I am not very knowledgeable about what moves are best and I wanted to branch out with it instead of just attack moves lol. The help is much appreciated, thank you all!

This is my first "actual" playthrough of any Pokemon game, and the last time my wife played was at least 15-20 years ago in middle/high school. I've been doing some research and it feels like I'm close with this list of Pokemon that we need to catch and trade with each other. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anybody. Please suggest any changes/additions.

She's a bit further ahead of me (just got her Rainbow Badge whereas I recently got off the Anne and made my way through Diglett's Cave multiple times to get a Mr. Mine). Still quite early in gameplay though.

So I'm playing Fire Red for the first time, additionally im also doing my first Nuzlocke Challenge.

Erika has DESTROYED most of my Team !

She Killed my Snowball (Geodude lvl 23)Cheestick ( Nidoking lvl 24), Ditto(Beedrill lvl 20), CkN Patty (Pidgeotto lvl 19)

She almost killed my Splashie (Gyarados lvl 32) & DT. Squirts (Blastoise lvl 39)

The Rocket Hideout is the next task at hand .

But Really had no issues up to this point and now I'm cautiously guessing everything!

Any advice for mid game / Late run

Just picked up Blub (Eevee/Vaporean)

I'm aware I get Lapras, soon ish !

At that point where I was thinking of running a full water team from here out . But idk if that's the best strategic plan ever.

Any advice also for self destruct opponents?

Yes I used ACE for these. But after months of successfully full odds shiny hunting for my 4 post game shinies; Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-oh and Deoxys, I decided to take a break from full odds and just have fun with the game by getting the shinies I have always wanted.

Buddy and I are completing the Pokédex and catching some shinies on original hardware and I need a secret weapon for our eventual ultimate battle. Far fetch is just a hm pokemon and I’m On fire red version

Lapras, Snorlax and Zapdos did most of the heavy lifting

First time playing Pokémon in about 8 years. The elite for was more stressful it should have been 😂 it was a breeze past lorelai and Bruno. Agatha knocked out one pokemon. Lance gave me a bit of trouble, his aerodactyl kept getting the boost from ancient power and was faster than my lapras. I think if I didn’t critical hit his dragonite, I would have lost 😅 finally the rival, snorlax came in clutch while I healed/revived my other pokemon. Lapras landing the final blow on Charizard with surf. Had to laugh how disappointed oak was in his grandson. “You will never be the champion” lol along those lines. The mvps in the elite four run was snorlax, absolute tank, lapras against Lance, and jolteon, a glass canon.

Think I’ll try another play through on fire red. That was pretty fun. I blasted the OG pokemon animes intro during the final battle 😂
