A little update to my previous post about the local co-op mod I've been working on for Star Ocean: The Second Story R!

The mod now has spellcaster support!

Spellcasters can now use their Set Spells while being controlled by another player. During battle, players can also use the right stick on their controller to switch between their Set Spells, so you can actually select and use different spells without taking control away from the other player.

Right now, I've only posted the 1.6.0 (spellcaster update) on my GitHub, you can download it in the release. It'll be rolled out eventually to other pages.

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a mod that adds local co‑op to Star Ocean: Second Story R. My wife and I wanted to play the remake together like the original, so I got to work and made this mod. It's functional and fully implemented and I wanted to share it.

What it does:

• Adds full local co‑op (two controllers, up to four)
• Additional players can move, attack, use skills, evade
• Works only in battle
• Built using BepInEx + IL2CPP injection

Current status:

• Stable for full playthrough
• Some quirks, because the game wasn't built for co-op
