Medical bills sent to Debt Collectors
Good afternoon everyone , need some advice
So this past week I received a letter in the mail from a debt collector agency which is called BCA Financial Services located in Miami FL that I owe around $2850, it was a medical bill that I was currently paying off for a ER visit that occurred on December, i was making monthly payments which makes me wonder why the hell did the hospital sell the debt in the first place. I have so many questions before I even speak or pick up the phone when they call, I been told that if they call I have the full right to ask them to verify the debt , verify that they got permission to even buy the debt from the hospital I went to and the chain of custody, my only concern is if I say that I don’t wanna end up getting sued which is why I’m skeptical of asking certain questions, any advice on what I should do would really be appreciated 🙏🏾
