Firearm Selection: 92xi or move on?
I want to get into IDPA or possibly USPSA. But am having a hard time figuring out what pistol to use. I just bought a 92xi last month and I am having a really hard time finding a rhythm with it. It fits my hand okay, my pinky is right on the magwell, and under slow fire I'm hitting the steel everytime, but when I try to shoot doubles I'm all over the place.
I'm considering moving to a striker fire pistol like Canik, Walther, Springfield, or S&W PC. My cousin has a TTI Canik and I hit doubles perfectly with that.
I'm not a super skilled shooter by any means, I'd rate myself beginner at best, as I've never really worked on shooting fast. So I wonder if its a mean problem, until I pick up the Canik and I'm able to shoot doubles with no issue.
Am I better off to put a comp and dot on my beretta or invest in something like the echelon or PDP? I was looking at build prices for the 92xi and by the time I put a comp and dot on it, I feel like I'll be 1500 deep into it and then I should have just got a prodigy.
Could really use some advice some seasoned shooters, just help me get started on the right path because I feel like its paralysis by analysis at this point.
I have a home range and am using a 66% steel target, but plan to build it out a little more here in the next month or so.
